    • A twist roller guide device includes a guide box (5), a twist guide member (1) having a twisted guide bore (10) for preliminarily twisting the stock (W), and a roller holder (14), supporting a pair of twist rollers (34). For minimizing the overall length of the guide the roller holder (14) consists of a hollow cylindrical body portion and two bearing plates (33) extending forwardly therefrom to support said twist rollers (34) therebetween. The twist guide member (1) consists of a tubular body portion (1 b) and an enlarged inlet head portion (1 a) being fitted in a bracket portion of the guide box (5) at the rear end thereof. The body portion (1 b) of the twist guide member (1) is fitted in the body portion of the roller holder (14), which is firmly supported in a support bracket (65) of the guide box (5) atthe front end thereof. The twist guide member (1) is beveled at its exit end (12) face for being placed close to the twist rollers (34).

    • PURPOSE:To provide the titled device of multistep type billet twisting roller enabling the reduction of flaws due to the twisting of a material to be rolled and a low temp. rolling by arranging in series plural units of twisting rollers to conduct the material to be rolled to a roll groove in a horizontal type continuous rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:The material to be rolled is gradually twisted so as to make the twisting reaction force of the material to be rolled about equal by plural units of twisting rollers 8a, 8b, 8c which are arranged in series via the solid guide 6 conducting the material to be rolled and fitted to the next roll groove without varying in upper and lower direction In this case the twisting angle is taken, for instance, about 7 deg. for the roller 8a, about 25 deg. for 8b and about 47 deg. for 8c. The guide 6 is of the structure only for the conduction of the material to be rolled and no twisting is performed. The rollers 8a, 8b, 8c have the V-shaped annual groove rotatably supporting the material to be rolled with a vertical supporting shaft via a bearing and is composed of >=two pieces of rolls pinching the material to be rolled.
