    • An automatic centering and cramping condition for rolled material (W) adjusting mechanism for adjusting the clearance between sub-guide (41, 51) rollers, for use in a material guiding apparatus of a rolling mill for rolling a steel blank into wires, bars etc., the material guiding apparatus having a pair of roller holders (2, 3) carrying a pair of main guide rollers (4, 5) and a pair of sub-guide rollers (41, 51). For even contact with the rolled material (W) and for optional centering the subguide rollers are (41, 51) rotatably carried by eccentric shaft pins unitary with support shafts (25) supported by the roller holders (2, 3). Left and right hand screw gears (27, 28) respectively are attached to the support shafts (25). Manually operable left and right hand screw worm gears (29, 30) respectively engage with the gears (27, 28) attached to the support shafts (25) respectively. The worm gears (29, 30) are carried by respective shafts (13, 14) which may be brought into engagement for unitary rotation with each other as necessitated.

    • A twist roller guide device includes a guide box (5), a twist guide member (1) having a twisted guide bore (10) for preliminarily twisting the stock (W), and a roller holder (14), supporting a pair of twist rollers (34). For minimizing the overall length of the guide the roller holder (14) consists of a hollow cylindrical body portion and two bearing plates (33) extending forwardly therefrom to support said twist rollers (34) therebetween. The twist guide member (1) consists of a tubular body portion (1 b) and an enlarged inlet head portion (1 a) being fitted in a bracket portion of the guide box (5) at the rear end thereof. The body portion (1 b) of the twist guide member (1) is fitted in the body portion of the roller holder (14), which is firmly supported in a support bracket (65) of the guide box (5) atthe front end thereof. The twist guide member (1) is beveled at its exit end (12) face for being placed close to the twist rollers (34).

    • A mechanism for adjusting a roller type stock guide includes a cylindrical nut including two tubular sections (45, 46) having theraded connections of opposite hands with a pair of threaded connections of opposite hands with a pair of threaded shafts (15, 16) being arranged between two roller holders (2, 3) and turnable for moving the threaded shafts (15, 16) in opposite directions thereby to vary the distance between the guide rollers (4, 5).
      For manually adjusting the guide rollers (4, 5) easily and in one operation a ratched type driving mechanism is provided which includes a ratched wheel (44) formed around the cylindrical nut (45, 46) integrally therewith, a pair of ratchet pawls movable into and out of meshing engagement with the ratchet wheel (44) in alternate fashion under the action of a manually operable control cam (19), and a notching lever handle (60) manually operable to turn the ratchet wheel (44) and cylindrical nut (45, 46) in an intermittent fashion through the intermediary of either one of the ratchet pawls as placed in mesh with the ratched wheel (44).
