    • To perform transport by correcting the transport amount while modifying the relative position of a correction value applied for transport of a medium.A recording apparatus including: (A) a head for performing recording on a medium, (B) a transport mechanism that includes a roller on an upstream side of the head and transports the medium in the transport direction according to a target transport amount that is targeted, (C) a memory that stores a plurality of correction values which are correction values for correcting the target transport amount when transporting the medium and which are matched with a relative position of the head and the medium, (D) a sensor that is provided at a more upstream side than the upstream-side roller in order to detect a lower end of the medium transported in the transport direction, and (E) a controller that corrects the target transport amount by a correction value, which is matched with the relative position with an upper end of the medium as a reference, and makes the transport mechanism transport the medium by the corrected target transport amount and that corrects the target transport amount by a correction value, which is matched with the relative position with the lower end of the medium as a reference, after detecting the lower end of the medium by the sensor and makes the transport mechanism transport the medium by the corrected target transport amount.
