    • This invention aims at providing a novel semiconductor accelerometer comprising a smaller number of substrates and a production method thereof.An insulating film is formed on a main plane of a P-type silicon substrate, and a beam-like movable electrode is formed on the insulating film. Fixed electrodes are then formed on both sides of the movable electrode in self-alignment with the movable electrode by diffusing an impurity into the P-type silicon substrate, and the insulating film below the movable electrode is etched and removed. There is thus produced a semiconductor accelerometer comprising the P-type silicon substrate 1, the movable electrode 4 having the beam structure and disposed above the P-type silicon substrate 1 with a predetermined gap between them, and the fixed electrodes 8, 9 consisting of the impurity diffusion layer and formed on both sides of the movable electrode 4 on the P-type silicon substrate 1 in self-alignment with the movable electrode 4. This sensor can detect acceleration from the change (increase/decrease) of a current between the fixed electrodes 8 and 9 resulting from the displacement of the movable electrode 4 due to acceleration.

    • A signal transmitting device for transmitting signals from operating switches which are provided on a steering wheel of an automobile to an electric load provided on a body thereof, is disclosed. The device comprises one annular electrode which is provided on a lower end surface of a steering wheel boss rotating with the steering wheel and another annular electrode which is provided on an upper end surface of a steering column cover fixed to the body so as to be opposed to the one annular electrode. These annular electrodes form a capacitor. The device further comprises a signal generating circuit composed of a plurality of resistors having different resistance values which are selectively connected to the one electrode provided on the steering wheel by use of the above described switches, an RC oscillator circuit composed of the above described capacitor which is connected to another annular electrode on the steering column cover and a signal receiving circuit which detects the change in output frequency of the oscillator circuit. The signal generating circuit is provided on the steering wheel while the oscillator circuit and the signal receiving circuit are provided on the body. By operating the switches, the resistor to be connected to the electrode provided on the steering wheel is changed so that the impedance of the line including the capacitor is changed. As a result, the output frequency of the oscillator circuit is changed by steps.

    • A luggage door unlocking device for a vehicle by which a luggage door of vehicle can be unlocked without using an unlocking key is disclosed. The device includes a portable transmitter for generating an unlocking signal, a receiver which is mounted on a vehicle for receiving and discriminating the unlocking signal when the transmitter approaches the receiver and a luggage door unlocking mechanism for operating an unlocking mechanism of the vehicle when the receiver receives the unlocking signal. The transmitter has a walk detector for detecting the periodical vibrations when the person carrying the transmitter is walking which generates a walk detecting signal. Also, a switch turns on or off upon receiving the walk detecting signal from the walk detector. In the luggage door unlocking device, the transmitter having the switch which is turned off upon receiving the walk detecting signal, the transmitter begins to generate the unlocking signal just after the person carrying the transmitter stops walking so that the luggage door is automatically unlocked just after he stops walking.

The torsion bar-type liquid meter includes housings fixed to the tank, torsion bars, one end of each being fixed to the tank by the housings and the other end of each being fixed to a supporting member so that the torsion bars are twisted by weight of the tank, twisted angle detection means for detecting the twisted angle of the torsion bars, and an electrical processor for supplying a signal corresponding to the quantity of liquid in the tank after receiving a signal from the twisted angle detector. When the liquid quantity in the tank is larger than a predetermined quantity, the liquid quantity, for example, the quantity of gasoline in a gasoline tank, is measured by the floating-type liquid-quantity meter. When the liquid quantity in the tank is smaller than a predetermined quantity, the liquid quantity is displayed precisely and accurately by the torsion bar-type liquid meter.
