    • It is an object to provide a process for treating timber, comprising the first step of immersing a high moisture content timber in an organic solvent compatible with water so as to remove water in the timber and make the organic solvent penetrate into the timber, and the second step of immersing the timber in a solution comprising a wood preservative and a high boiling point organic solvent, the solution being compatible with the organic solvent, so as to make the high boiling point organic solvent and the wood preservative penetrate into the timber, wherein timber is treated in a short period of time without a step of drying a high moisture content timber, and at the same time, cracking by drying at the step of drying a high moisture content timber is inhibited.

    • An insecticide application to termites is obtained comprising at least one member selected from a plant, an extract of the plant, and an ooze (or exudate) of the plant, wherein the plant belongs to at least one genus selected from the group consisting of the genus Geranium, the genus Morus, the genus Artemisia, the genus Diospyros, the genus Crataegus, the genus Curcuma, the genus Rubia, the genus Polygonum, the genus Gardenia, the genus Cornus, the genus Uncaria, the genus Rheum, the genus Terminalia and the genus Saussurea. The extract may be a substance extracted with at least one member selected from the group consisting of water and a hydrophilic solvent. The insecticide exhibits high insecticidal and insect-controlling activity against insects (e.g., sanitarily injurious insects, insects injurious to houses and particularly to timber such as termites), being highly safe to human beings and animals and not adversely affecting the environment.

    • A template processor converts an initial template document into an XSL template that can be used to automatically generate reports from report data extracted from a database or other application. Users create initial template documents using a word processor or other rich-text editing application. The initial template document employs the word processor's native formatting features to specify the formatting of report data. The initial template document includes placeholder tags inserted by the user to define the locations of report data in the report. The initial template document also includes transformation tags that dynamically define the content of a report based on the value or quantity of report data. The template processor can include a reader adapted to read portions of the initial template file and a parser adapted to create corresponding XSL code from these portions. The XSL template can be combined with XML-formatted data to create a report.
