摘要： A disk drive is realized, which omits running-in for stabilizing a change in a correcting function produced by sliding between balls and a rolling groove in an unbalance correcting mechanism, and prevents immobility and straying of balls, and which comprises a unit mechanism assembled by using 12 balls subjected to surface treatment with heptadecafluorodecyltrimethoxysilane and a turntable plated with a chemical nickel plating containing phosphorus and boron to have a thickness of 5 &mgr;m and by injecting 1 microliter of ester oil into the rolling groove, and further comprises a recess formed in a sidewall of the rolling groove of the unbalance correcting mechanism to prolong the service life of the correcting function.

摘要： The number of revolutions of a disk is once increased to a higher level than a resonance frequency of a rotation support system at the startup of rotation of the disk, and subsequently servo control for a pickup actuator is made to work to read information from the disk. It is possible to increase reproducibility of the disk unbalance correction and improve the apparatus in reliability without generation of vibrations and noises, and to spin the disk at high speed.

摘要： An objective lens actuator that can accommodate higher density and speed is provided by improving frequency characteristics of an objective lens.The objective lens actuator includes an objective lens, a cylindrical lens holder that holds the objective lens, and a reinforcement part disposed in an opening opposite to the objective lens of the lens holder. The reinforcement part has a size that occupies one third to one half of the cylindrical wall of the lens holder from the end of an aperture along the optical axis. In this range, the high order resonance frequencies of the lens holder can be increased, and therefore, it is possible to obtain an objective lens actuator that can minimize the vibration amplitude at the high order resonance frequencies.

摘要： An orifice for a pressure-type flow rate controller, which can be produced by a simple method at a low cost, that provides a linearity--between the pressure P1 on the upstream side of the orifice and the flow rate--over a wide range of the pressure ratio P2/P1 of the pressure P2 on the downstream side of the orifice to the upstream pressure P1 and that permits adjustment with ease of flow characteristics among a plurality of orifices.
