    • Vibrations in the rear wheel caused by variations in the driving power transmitted to the rear wheel via the chain or movements transmitted to the rear wheel from the road surface are damped. The damping mechanism damps vibrations that act to displace the annular member relative to the wheel hub in a circumferential direction with respect to their positions after the rotation of the annular member relative to the wheel hub.
