    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the service life of a water purifying element, to eliminate retaining of water in a container and to enhance the sterilization work in a water purifier using a cylindrical water purifying element and provided with a water discharge port at the lower part of a vessel. SOLUTION: The water purifying vessel has a base 1 and a cover 9, and the cylindrical water purifying element 7 is provided in the longitudinal direction. An inner cylinder 20 whose lower and part is communicated with a discharge port 5 is provided in an inner hole 8 of the water purifying element 7, and a water passing space 22 is formed between the inside surface of the water purifying element 7 and the outer peripheral surface of the inner cylinder 20, and water passing holes 21 communicated with the water passing space 22 are provided at the upper part of the inner cylinder 20. Thus, the water passing through the water purifying element 7 is not concentrated on a portion due to pipe line resistance of the water passing space 22, a partial clogging does not occur, and an exchange period is prolonged. A base material of the water purifying element 7 is made of e.g. activated carbon or ceramics on which silver and silver compound are deposited.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an air purifier which has high dust collecting rate and is miniaturized by providing a charging part on the upstream side of gas flow, providing a pleat electrode so as to make it intersect perpendicularly to the gas flow on the downstream side, inserting collecting electrode from the upstream and downstream sides and applying high voltage so that the collecting electrodes may be opposite in porarity to the charging polarity given to particles by the charging part on the upstream side of the gas flow. CONSTITUTION:A charging part 6 is provided on the upstream side of gas flow, and a pleat electrode 11 is provided so as to be crossed perpendicularly with the gas flow on the downstream side. Collecting electrodes 9a, 9b are inserted from at least one of the upstream and downstream sides. High voltage is applied between the collecting electrodes 9a, 9b and the pleat electrode 11 so that the collecting electrodes 9a, 9b may be opposite in polarity to the charging polarity given to particles by the charging part on the upstream side of the gas flow. In this way, in the collecting electrode 9a on the upstream side, by electrostatic force and the slowing down of gas flow rate near the electrode 9a, high dust collecting efficiency is obtained, and in the electrode 9b, by electrostatic force and the refraction action of the gas flow, high dust collecting efficiency is obtained.
