The method includes applying electrical stimulation to a patient using a paddle lead that includes a plurality of electrodes, acquiring evoked response data using at least some of the plurality of electrodes, wherein the evoked response data is indicative of a patient response to the electrical stimulation, transmitting the evoked response data to a computing device, and processing the evoked response data using the computing device to facilitate monitoring the applied electrical stimulation.

摘要： Implantable systems, and methods for use therewith, for monitoring arterial blood pressure on a chronic basis are provided herein. A first signal indicative of electrical activity of a patient's heart, and a second signal indicative of mechanical activity of the patient's heart, are obtained using implanted electrodes and an implanted sensor. By measuring the times between various features of the first signal relative to features of the second signal, values indicative of systolic pressure and diastolic pressure can be determined. In specific embodiments, such features are used to determine a peak pulse arrival time (PPAT), which is used to determine the value indicative of systolic pressure. Additionally, a peak-to-peak amplitude at the maximum peak of the second signal, and the value indicative of systolic pressure, can be used to determine the value indicative of diastolic pressure.

摘要： Provided herein are implantable systems, and methods for use therewith, for monitoring a patient's arterial blood pressure while a patient's heart is being paced. A signal (e.g., PPG or IPG signal) indicative of changes in arterial blood volume remote from the patient's heart is obtained using a sensor or electrodes that are implanted remote from the patient's heart. One or more metrics indicative of pulse arrival time (PAT) are determined, where each metric can be determined by determining a time from a paced cardiac event to one or more predetermined features of the signal indicative of changes in arterial blood volume. Based on at the metric(s) indicative of PAT, arterial blood pressure is estimated, which can include determining values indicative of systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, pulse pressure and/or mean arterial blood pressure, and/or changes in such values.

摘要： An implantable cardiac rhythm management device has a housing containing rhythm management circuitry. The circuitry includes a battery, a transformer, and a capacitor connected via charging circuitry that operates to transmit current from the battery to charge the capacitor. A number of leads connected to the circuitry operate to transmit a shock from the capacitor to cardiac tissue outside of the housing. The capacitor has a smaller volume than the combined volume of the battery and transformer, such that it reaches a selected charge voltage within a limited time interval. The device may operate to limit capacitor charging to less than a selected energy storage capability at a given voltage, and components may be selected to limit charging time to less than 2 seconds. The component selection and charge duration may be based on a time-based function of defibrillation threshold (DFT).

摘要： A header adapter which is a separately molded part and which is designed to be secured to receiving portions of the header and pulse generator case of an implantable cardiac stimulation device, such as a pacemaker or implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, in order to provide a different lead connector port configuration than that provided by the header of the device. The header adapter has a plurality of adapter lead connector ports and a plurality of lead connectors affixed to a rear portion (mounting side) thereof. The lead connectors extend outwardly from the rear portion of the header adapter, and are insertable into corresponding lead connector ports of the header of the implantable cardiac stimulation device to which the header adapter is to be secured. At least one of the plurality of adapter lead connector ports is of a different size than any of the header lead connector ports of the device to which the header adapter is to be secured, and/or the number of adapter lead connector ports is different (greater or less than) the number of header lead connector ports of the device to which the header adapter is to be secured. Two or more leads inserted into the header adapter lead connector ports can be electrically connected to the same lead connector and/or one or more of the leads inserted into a header adapter lead connector port(s) can each be electrically connected to two or more of the lead connectors. Further, one or more of the lead connectors can be an electrically inactive "dummy" lead connector. The header adapter is preferably made of a transparent or translucent polymeric or other electrically insulative, biocompatible material, such as an epoxy resin or a thermoplastic elastomer. The invention also relates to an implantable cardiac stimulation device to which the header adapter is secured.
