    • The invention relates to a process for the preparation of foamed or unfoamed polyurethanes by the reaction of compounds with molecular weights of 400 to 10,000 having at least two isocyanate-reactive hydrogen atoms with polyisocyanates in the presence of catalysts containing tertiary amino groups and optionally in the presence of chain-lengthening agents of molecular weight 32 to 400, foam stabilizers, water and/or organic blowing agents and optionally other auxiliary agents and additives, characterized in that the catalysts are morpholine derivatives of the general formula ##STR1## wherein X is an integer from 3 to 6 andR.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are identical or different and(a) represent a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl or C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 -cycloalkyl group or(b) form a heterocyclic ring containing 4-7 C-atoms, which heterocyclic ring may contain hetero groups in addition to the N-atom and wherein the additional hetero groups may be substituted by a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl, or(c) together denote a group of the formula ##STR2## in which n and m are identical or different numbers from 2 to 4, preferably 2, or(d) represent ##STR3##

    • Polyurethanes are made by reacting a polyisocyanate with a compound containing at least two isocyanate-reactive hydrogen atoms having a molecular weight of from 400 to 10,000 in the presence of a catalyst containing tertiary amino groups. The required catalyst corresponds to the formula ##STR1## in which R, R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 represent a specified group or radical. A blowing agent and/or stabilizer and/or chain extending agent and/or other additives commonly used in the production of polyurethanes may optionally be included in the reaction mixture. The catalyst employed in the process is particularly advantageous in that it does not have a noticeable amine odor.
