    • A lamp assembly includes a reflector body having an integral crimping portion that extends inwardly over a channel formed in the reflector body, a seal feature arranged within the channel, a cathode assembly having an edge feature extending into the channel, and a resilient member held in a state of compression between the crimping portion and a first surface of the edge feature such that an opposing second surface of the edge member is held against the sealing feature thereby creating a hermetic seal between the cathode assembly and the reflector body wherein the crimping portion is configured to remain in contact with the resilient member if the hermetic seal becomes non-hermetic.

    • A system and method for enhancing contrast in a digital projector is disclosed. The method includes positioning a first optical component, such as a digital micro-mirror device (DMD), and a second optical component, such as a total internal reflection (TIR) prism, along a light path. The first optical component and the second optical component are separated by a gap. The perimeter of the gap is sealed with a sealant. The gap may be evacuated to provide substantially a vacuum in the gap. Alternatively, the gap may be filled with a fluid, such as a liquid or a gel. The fluid may have a refractive index substantially similar to the refractive index of at least one of the optical components.

    • A display of an embodiment of the invention includes a number of display modules that are interlockable to form the display. Each display module includes at least one user-viewable display element, at least one connector, and at least one receptor, which are disposed in the display module. Each of a number of pixels of the display corresponds to at least one of the display elements of each display module. The connectors of each display module at least receive power from and/or provide power to adjacent display modules. The receptors of each display module are receptive to connectors of other adjacent display modules.
