    • A milk foaming device for emulsifying steam, milk and air to produce foamed milk. The milk foaming device includes an ingredient combining assembly for combining the steam, milk and air connected to a swirl chamber for blending the ingredients. A discharge tube is attached to the swirl chamber for dispensing foamed milk therethrough. A concave notch is formed in the walls of the discharge extending from a dispensing port of the tube upwardly along the walls. The notch retards or prevents formation of bubble surfaces over the dispensing port of the discharge tube and thereby prevent splattering of milk. A laminator is provided in the tube and extending therefrom for inducing a columnar flow of foamed milk from the discharge tube.

    • A pitcher for holding and serving liquids including a jar portion, a ring member engageable with the jar portion, and a cover assembly engageably with the ring member. A rim portion of the cover assembly is defined by an aperture formed through the cover assembly and an integral spout is formed in a section of the rim portion for controllably pouring liquids from the pitcher. A mouth is formed at one end of the jar and a necked portion is formed on a surface of the jar spaced apart from the mouth. A diameter of the necked portion is smaller than a diameter of the mouth and includes a concave portion which is sized and dimensioned for matably engaging the ring member. Thread portions formed on cooperative surfaces of the cover assembly and the ring member attach the cover assembly to the jar. Included in the cover assembly is a cap for covering the aperture in the cover assembly and a lid assembly carried on the cap and movable relative to the cap and the spout formed on the rim portion. The lid assembly is a unitary body formed with an elongated beam member having a movable lid at one end and a thumb lever at the other end. Application of a force on the thumb lever selectively displaces the lid from the spout.

    • The present disclosure relates to apparatus, systems, and methods of use for producing beverages. The apparatus includes components and methods for facilitating beverage production applying water or other liquid in combination with a brewing substance and controlled aeration and pressurization of a mixing vessel or column. The aeration of the water and brewing substance can be accomplished with a vacuum system, a positive pressurization system, and a combination of such systems. The apparatus, systems, and methods can be used with a variety of beverage making devices such as a device which might be used to controllably produce volumes of beverage to a reservoir. The methods include controllable aeration and pressurization of the vessel for brewing which may include controlling extraction time, steep time, active controllable agitation of the brewing substance, as well as other brewing characteristics, features, and actions.

The container includes a body having a reservoir chamber and a mouth communicating with the reservoir chamber. The lid assembly is cooperatively attachable to the body of the container for selectively closing the mouth. A breathing vent is provided in the exterior segment for communication between the outside atmosphere and the lid chamber. An anti-spill vent is provided with the vent for preventing leakage of liquid therethrough when the container is tipped. A second vent extends between the interior segment and communicates with the lid chamber for passing atmosphere between the reservoir chamber and the lid chamber.

    • An apparatus for beverage brewing using heated liquid to infuse a beverage brewing substance during a brewing cycle. The apparatus includes a brew chamber which is positioned for communication with a reservoir having a filter positioned between the brew chamber and the reservoir. A quantity of beverage brewing substance is placed in the brew chamber and a quantity of heated water is placed in the reservoir. A pumping device pumps the water in the reservoir to the brew chamber to infuse the beverage brewing substance and produce a brewed beverage. The brewed beverage created in the brew chamber drains through the filter between the brew chamber and the reservoir and is captured by the reservoir. The brewed beverage and any remaining heated water are recirculated through the beverage brewing substance in the brew chamber for a period of time. At a desired period in the brewing cycle, a valve connected to the reservoir is operated to open the reservoir and drain the brewed beverage therefrom. The pump device drains the recirculation path between the reservoir and the brew chamber and forces air through the spent beverage brewing substance thereby expelling moisture from the spent beverage brewing substance. A plunger is used to enclose the beverage brewing substance in the brew chamber and deposit water from the pump to infuse the brewing substance. At the end of the cycle, the brew chamber is displaced from the filter and reservoir and the plunger expels the spent beverage brewing substance.

    • An analysis instrument for measuring selected constituents present in a sample of a material such as a bulk commodity includes a test cell to receive the sample. The test cell comprises a capacitor whose electrical properties are modified in accordance with the dielectric constant of the sample, which dielectric constant is a function of the contents of the sample. A hopper is mounted above the test cell for holding a quantity of the commodity to be tested and doors forming a bottom of the hopper are selectively openable to introduce the material from the hopper into the test cell. A strike off mechanism is provided for striking off the sample level with the top of the test cell to assure a constant volume of sample material therein. Weight and temperature sensors are provided for measuring the weight and temperature of the sample. An unloading mechanism is provided for rotating the test cell to remove the sample therefrom upon completion of the measurements.

    • Briefly, and in accordance with the foregoing, disclosed is a spray head for use with, in combination with a beverage making apparatus, as a replacement for other spray heads and a method of using a spray head. The spray head receives liquid from a liquid dispensing path of the beverage making apparatus and distributes liquid over a beverage making substance retained proximate the spray head. The spray head includes two pieces, a first piece for connection to the liquid dispensing path and the second piece which is flexible and removable attachable to the first piece. A cavity is defined between the first and second pieces. Water received form the liquid dispensing path collects in the cavity. The second piece or body portion includes a plurality of holes for dispensing and distributing water from the cavity over the beverage substance. The spray head is removable from the beverage making apparatus for facilitating direct contact and flexion cleaning of the surfaces of at least the body portion of the spray head to remove particles and mineral deposits therefrom.
