    • An electric motor driven toy wheeled vehicle is provided with a projecting shift lever movable through an "H" pattern for selectively shifting the vehicle into any one of neutral, two-wheel high speed forward drive, two-wheel high speed reverse drive, four-wheel low speed forward drive, or four-wheel low speed reverse drive. The front and rear axles with their respective wheels and drive gears are journaled for rotation in a chassis which also carries a gear box for lateral axial movement. A mount for the shift lever and motor is supported by the gear box for movement in the longitudinal direction of the chassis transverse to the axial direction. The gear box also carries a high speed two-wheel drive gear train continuously connected to the motor and which can be engaged by movement to one side to drive the rear wheels and a second low speed four-wheel drive gear train also continuously connected to the motor that can be engaged by movement to the other side to drive both the front and rear wheels. A switch with its movable element carried by the mount changes the polarity of the voltage from a DC power source to effect reversal of the motor as well as breaking the electrical connection in the neutral position.

    • A children's stuffed-art craft set includes a background board having two-dimensional graphics on a face surface with openings of various shapes forming elements of the graphics extending through the board to the opposite surface. Backing pieces, and relatively soft, stuffing pieces which are readily compressible compared to the background board and backing pieces, are shaped to fit into background board openings. Pieces of fabric or other material, larger than the openings and of various colors, patterns and textures are also supplied. A selected fabric piece is placed over the conforming stuffing and backing pieces and then inserted through the opening in the backing board from the opposite surface. The thickness of the extra fabric is wedged between the opening and the conforming backing piece to stretch the fabric, compress the stuffing and secure the combination in place creating a soft relief element of the picture or design following the two-dimensional graphics on the face of the background board.

    • A game includes the player's successive selection of matching images within a short time interval initiated by the first selection. Failure to select the proper matching image within the interval results in a mixing of the images. In an electronic video game version of the target shooting type a plurality of sets of matching targets are initially displayed. Each target has mating components. If the targets hit within the time interval do not match, components of each of the hit targets are exchanged to form a mixed target. The successively hit matched targets are removed but are replaced by another form of targets after the first rack. All of the prior form targets must be removed before the succeeding form can be removed from the screen. In still later racks, the initially displayed targets include ones with mixed components to increase the challenge. The player controls the movement of a shooter among the targets and directs the firing of projectiles at the targets. Collision of the shooter with a target ends the player's turn. A sequence of progressively closer views of a background scene that is partially shown in the distance of the present rack are included to enhance the enjoyment of the game.

    • A figure toy adapted to change its posture upon impact includes a central body or mid-torso portion having an upper torso or body portion and a lower torso or hip portion pivotally coupled thereto. The figure toy further includes a bistable, force-applying element that pivots the upper and lower torso portions relative to the central body portion upon impact to the figure toy. The figure toy further includes a pair of arms, pivoted to the upper torso portion and a pair of legs, pivoted to the hip portion, which are actuated by the force applying element. A launching device is provided including a biased figure toy mounting platform which is held in a prelaunching position by a latch. The latch is depressed by a selectively actuable element to release the platform and launch the figure toy. A second launching device is disclosed which includes a figure toy mounting platform pivotally coupled to a base. The platform includes a device for holding the doll onto the platform until the platform is pivoted through a predetermined angle by an actuating element, whereupon the figure toy is released.

    • A game apparatus includes a motorized bucket assembly, a plurality of game balls, and a plurality of shovel elements which are operative for scooping up the game balls and placing them in the bucket assembly. The motorized bucket assembly includes a bucket element which is rotatably supported on a pair of wheels, and one of the wheels includes a discontinuous surface thereon so that the bucket element is periodically turned as it is moved across a supporting surface. The bucket assembly further includes a spring biased plunger which is operative for shooting the game balls outwardly from the bucket element through an aperture in the outer wall thereof while the bucket element is moved across the supporting surface. An on/off switch is provided for selectively energizing a drive for the bucket assembly and a handle is attached to the switch so that the drive is energized when the handle is pushed downwardly, and de-energized when the handle is pulled upwardly. Game players must attempt to quickly gather their balls with their shovel elements and drop them in the bucket element before the plunger assembly shoots them back out. The first player to deposit all of his or her balls in the bucket element and pull the handle up to stop the drive is the winner.

    • A puzzle in which alphabet letters or other graphics are displayed in movable squares forming a grid on a front side of the puzzle. On the back side of the puzzle is another grid of movable squares containing alphabet letters or other graphics. Each square is a part of each of two mutually transverse, continuous bands. One band comprises aligned front side and back side rows while the other transverse band comprises aligned front side and back side columns. The relationship of each square in the puzzle may be changed with respect to every other square. As squares are moved out of the front side grid, they wrap around, out of sight, and change the grid of squares on the back side while bringing an out of sight square into the front side grid. In one electronic version of the puzzle, movement of a square is effected by touching the front side square to be moved and then touching the position on the front side row or column to which the square is to be moved. Grids in a mechanical version have moveable pieces carried in transverse intersecting slots formed by parts mounted on posts and spaced from a core.

    • An illusion performing apparatus including a performing stage having a base, an upright rectangular open support frame, and a plurality of removable support walls for interchangeably mounting in the opening of the frame. Each of the support walls includes a plurality of illusion devices. A first support wall provides illusion devices for performing the illusion of making a figure disappear, performing the illusion of making a figure turn into a skeleton, and a mindreading magic act including a plurality of cards having identifiable indicia on each of the cards. A second support wall includes an illusion device for performing an illusion of separating a figure toy into a plurality of parts, causing a container filled with a fluent material to appear, and causing a substantially large figure toy such as an animal to disappear. A third support wall includes illusion devices for performing the illusion of passing knives through a figure toy, performing the illusion of causing a figure toy to change characteristics, for example from a woman to a man, and performing the illusion of sawing a body in two and then recombining the body of the figure toy. A magic wand and handkerchief or scarf secured thereto is provided for use by the performer in concealing the operation of the various illusion devices mounted on the support walls. Several of the above described illusion devices have manually manipulatable portions extending behind the support wall which may be actuated by the user while being concealed from the observer or audience.
