摘要： An offset measuring unit receives a servo error signal E1 in which a change in an offset caused by a change in an amount of reflection light directly appears and which does not pass through a filter, and measures an offset amount in the servo error signal which is caused by a change in the amount of reflection light. 摘要： A focus servo control system for use in optical disk drive units prevents a large current from continuously flowing through a focus actuator coil FC when a focus error signal FES in the focus servo loop increases while a track servo loop is in an "off" state, thereby preventing deterioration of the coil FC. The focus servo control further includes a controller for detecting a length of time during which an "off" state of the track servo loop in a servo controller continues, and for turning off the focus servo loop or, alternatively, reducing the gain of the focus servo loop when the detected length of time exceeds a predetermined value.

Upon seeking, when a defective reading operation of the track address occurs, a clock frequency of the zone corresponding to each detecting position is selected due to the detection of the head by a head position sensor or the movement of the head to a home position at which a detection signal of a home position sensor is obtained, and the reading operation is retried. Errors due to back talk noises upon reproduction are reduced. At the time of retry for the occurrence of errors due to the back talk noises, a modulation amount of a read beam from a laser diode is changed.

In lieu of the differentiating circuit, it is possible to use a feedback circuit connected between the output terminal and the second input terminal, the feedback circuit comprising a control unit for changing a feedback quantity of the differentiating circuit in accordance with variations in a frequency of the input signal.
