    • An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a contact module inserted into the insulative housing and a number of cables connected to the contact module. The contact module includes an insulative block and a number of contacts fixed in the insulative block through insert molding. The contacts includes a number of cantilevered contacting portions extending beyond the insulative block and a number of soldering pads. The cantilevered contacting portions of adjacent contacts overlap each other from a side view, while the soldering pads of the adjacent contacts are offset from each other and exposed on upper and lower surfaces of the insulative block, respectively, from the side view. As a result, the contact module can be easily assembled to the insulative housing.

    • An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a contact module inserted into the insulative housing, a metal shell locked to the insulative housing, a number of cables and an outer shell over-molding the metal shell and the cables. The contact module includes an insulative block and a number of contacts embedded in the insulative block. The contacts include a plurality of cantilevered contacting portions extending beyond the insulative block and a plurality of soldering pads exposed on the insulative block. The cantilevered contacting portions of all the contacts overlap each other from a side view, while the soldering pads of all the contacts are alternately arranged in two parallel planes, respectively, from the side view.

    • A power connector assembly includes mateable power receptacle and power plug. The power receptacle includes a first insulative housing defining a first heat dissipation path extending through opposite first mating and mounting surfaces, and a receptacle power contact exposed to the first heat dissipation path. The power plug includes a second insulative housing defining a second heat dissipation path extending through a second mounting surface of the second insulative housing, and a plug power contact for abutting against the receptacle power contact. The first and the second heat dissipation paths are in communication with each other and are exposed to an exterior so that heat generated by the receptacle power contact and the plug power contact can be dissipated therethrough.

    • A receptacle connector for receiving a complementary plug includes an insulative housing (100), a number of contacts (200) received in the housing, a metallic shell (300) partially covering the housing and a pair of fixing members (400) assembled between the housing and the shell. Each contact includes a retention portion (201), a contact portion (202) and a tail portion (205). The top wall forms a protrusion (112) protruded in each receiving slot, and each contact portion has a free end (204) abutting against the protrusion and being capable of moving in the receiving slot when the contact portion is engaged with and deflected by the complementary plug.

    • A power connector mounting on a printed circuit board (PCB), includes an insulating housing, and a number of power contacts received in the housing. The insulating housing extends along a transversal direction and defines a number of passageways extending therethrough along a front-to-back direction. The insulating housing has a top wall, an opposite bottom wall, and a pair of side walls. A beam is provided inside of the passageway. Each power contact has a main portion, a pair of contacting fingers extending from a forward edge of the main portion and distal tails extending downwards from the main portion. The pair of contacting fingers defining a groove therebetween for engaging with the beam so as to facilitate the contact being secured in the passageway with respect to said insulating housing.
