    • An electrical connector assembly includes mateable receptacle connector and plug connector. The receptacle connector includes a first insulative housing, a number of first contacts retained in the first insulative housing and a first metallic shell. The first metallic shell includes a pair of cantilevered claws extending downwardly from opposite sides thereof. When the plug connector is mated with the receptacle connector along a bottom-to-top direction, the pair of cantilevered claws are deformable so as to clamp the plug connector in position and prevent the plug connector from falling off from the receptacle connector along a top-to-bottom direction.

    • An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a contact module inserted into the insulative housing, a metal shell locked to the insulative housing, a number of cables and an outer shell over-molding the metal shell and the cables. The contact module includes an insulative block and a number of contacts embedded in the insulative block. The contacts include a plurality of cantilevered contacting portions extending beyond the insulative block and a plurality of soldering pads exposed on the insulative block. The cantilevered contacting portions of all the contacts overlap each other from a side view, while the soldering pads of all the contacts are alternately arranged in two parallel planes, respectively, from the side view.

    • An electrical connector in accordance with the present invention includes an insulative housing defining a mating direction and at least one contact-receiving passage extending along a mating direction, at least one conductive contact received in the at least one contact-receiving passage for electrically connecting with a conductive contact of a complementary connector, and a protection element. The at least one conductive contact includes a retention section interferentially received in the at least one contact-receiving passage, and a mating section extending from the retention section for electrically connecting with corresponding conductive contact of the complementary connector, and a mounting section extending from the retention section. The mating section forms a tip end at a free end thereof. The protection element is integrally formed with the tip end of the mating section of the at least one conductive contact and wraps the tip end.

    • A socket connector includes an insulative housing, a number of conductive contacts received in the insulative housing and a protection cover. The insulative housing defines a number of contact-receiving slots. Each contact-receiving slot opens to both a top surface and a front surface of the insulative housing.     • A receptacle connector for receiving a complementary plug includes an insulative housing (100), a number of contacts (200) received in the housing, a metallic shell (300) partially covering the housing and a pair of fixing members (400) assembled between the housing and the shell.
