For example, an apparatus or system may comprise a universal computational package, comprising a processor, a memory coupled to the processor, a plurality of instructions stored in the memory directed to at least one specific use of the universal computational package, and a plurality of interface controllers coupled to the processor, wherein each of the plurality of interface controllers is operable to cause the processor to execute the plurality of stored instructions in accordance with the presence of a use-specific user interface cover associated with the at least one specific use of the universal computational package.

摘要： A real-time media driver for scheduling and mixing media in a multimedia environment. Implemented to operate in conjunction with a non-real-time operating system, the real-time media driver comprises a wave driver which controls a predominant percentage of the operations of the media hardware device and a mini-device driver which is software provided by the vendor of the media hardware device to support functions unique to the particular media hardware device. Furthermore, the real-time media driver comprises a media scheduler which (i) synchronizes multiple media streams prior to being input into a mixing/splitting device of the media scheduler; (ii) allows reconfiguration of attributes of media streams without loss of content prior to and after operations by the mixing/splitting device; and (iii) appropriately mixes media to produce multi-channel media according to a certain "prioritized sharing" policies.

In particular embodiments, a reduced thickness of the first portion may provide for additional space within the base portion to allow other components to be located therein.

摘要： A telephone access system which provides remote access and communication with a computer through a telephone handset. The system provides audio instructions to the user to select between a plurality of audio dialogs. The audio dialogs may provide access to voice mail, electronic mail, a file manager (documents, databases, etc.) and facsimiles all stored within the computer. Once within an audio dialog, the system provides a series of instructions which allows the user to manipulate the information stored within the computer. For example, the system may allow the user to listen to a message received through electronic mail and then reply to the message. The system may also allow the user to remotely listen to the text of a document and FAX the document to a location remote from the computer.
