摘要： The present invention relates methods and apparatus for lining a wellbore. In one aspect, a drilling assembly having an earth removal member and a wellbore lining conduit is manipulated to advance into the earth. The drilling assembly includes a first fluid flow path and a second fluid flow path. Fluid is flowed through the first fluid flow path, and at least a portion of which may return through the second fluid flow path. In one embodiment, the drilling assembly is provided with a third fluid flow path. After drilling has been completed, wellbore lining conduit may be cemented in the wellbore.

In one embodiment, the present invention provides a hydraulic setting tool (113) for use in wellbor e operations. The setting tool includes a first tubular member (130) and a second tubular member (120) disposed around the outer diameter of the first tubular member. A piston (110) is mechanically attached to an upper portion of the second tubular member and adapted to move axially in relation to the fir st tubular member. The piston acts to transmit a force to the second tubular member. A slip assembly (162) is operatively connected to the second tubular member and the second tubular member transmits the force to the slip assembl y thereby actuating the slip assembly.

摘要： The present invention generally relates to an apparatus for sealing a wellbore. The sealing apparatus includes an expandable tubular body having one or more sealing elements disposed thereon. In one aspect, the sealing elements include swelling and non-swelling sealing elements. Preferably, the swelling sealing elements are made of a swelling elastomer capable of swelling upon activation by an activating agent. The swelling elements may be covered with a protective layer during the run-in. When the tubular body is expanded, the protective layer breaks, thereby exposing the swelling elements to the activating agent. In turn, the swelling elements swell and contact the wellbore to form a fluid tight seal.

摘要： An improved expansion assembly for an expander tool is provided. The expander tool is used to expand a surrounding tubular body within a wellbore. Accordingly, a method for expanding a surrounding tubular is also provided. The expansion assembly first comprises a piston disposed within a recess of the expander tool. The top surface of the piston closely receives a pad. The pad is held in close proximity to the top surface of the piston such that it does not rotate about a shaft. This arrangement reduces the geometric size of the expansion assembly, affording a larger inner diameter for the hollow bore of the expander tool itself. At least one reinforcement member is disposed on or within the pad to strengthen the pad during an expansion operation. The reinforcement member is fabricated from a durable material, and is arranged along the pad in the area of contact with the surrounding tubular during an expansion operation.

摘要： An apparatus for use in a wellbore, the apparatus comprises a top body, a bottom body, and a sleeve mechanically connected to the top and bottom bodies. The sleeve movable between a first position to a second position, whereby in the first position, the top and bottom bodies rotate as one unit and in the second position, the top body rotates independent of the bottom body in a first direction and with the bottom body in a second direction. A method for completing a wellbore, wherein the method comprises running an assembly and a liner disposed on a drill string into the wellbore. The assembly includes an expander tool, a hydraulically actuated swivel, and a running tool mechanically connected to the liner. The method includes rotating the assembly and the liner as one rotationally locked unit. The method further includes activating the expander tool, expanding the liner into the existing casing, deactivating the expander, and then removing the drill string and running assembly from the wellbore.

摘要： A wellbore tubular connection comprises a first tubular 101 having an end with a recess 110, a second tubular 201 having an end with a corresponding recess 210, whereby the recess 110 and the corresponding recess 210 define a continuous cavity 301 when the first 101 and second tubulars 201 are connected together, and a connector 300 for positioning in at least a portion of the continuous cavity 301. As an alternative the tubulars 101,201 can have multiple recesses which define multiple cavities. The connector 200 is preferably a wire having a cross section which substantially matches the shape of the cavity 301 and it may be coated with a sealant. The connector 300 is preferably inserted into the continuous cavity 301 through an aperture 130 in the wall of tubular 101. The connection may also include at least one torque locking device, at least one torque screw or mating castellations (540, 640 figs 5A, 5B). The mating surfaces of the tubulars 101,201 may also be provided with a finish that provides a frictional resistance to a rotational movement between the tubulars 101,201.
