摘要： A simple modification to a fluid storage system e.g. a central heating system involves incorporating a float member 21 in the header tank 10. The float member is connected to the inside of the tank 10 and floats on or near the surface of the fluid 11 in the tank 10. The tank 10 has an inlet 18 and an outlet 12. A plug 22 is supported on the float member 21. In the event of a sudden fluid leakage in the system the level of the fluid 11 in the tank 10 falls quickly, the float member falls with the fluid, dislodging the plug 22 therefrom. The plug 22 is carried with the fluid in to the outlet 12 of the tank 10, blocking it and substantially preventing further fluid loss therefrom. This minimises the volume of fluid escaping and hence any damage caused is kept to a minimum.

摘要： A low fluid sensor for an internal combustion engine. The sensor includes a base with helically threaded post and a float slidably mounted on the post. The float rotates about the post as it moves longitudinally along it. In the preferred embodiment, eccentric mounting of the assembly along with its lobe shape act in concert with the pitch of the screw threads and fluid viscosity to dampen the buoyant movement of the float against fluid turbulence. At a predetermined level a latch spring on the float contacts an ignition circuit terminal and grounds the engine ignition circuit. A catch holds the float at the predetermined level, preventing engine starting, so that the sensor may only be reset by addition of fluid and re-insertion of the dipstick.

摘要： To prevent poaching of an Internet Protocol (IP) set top box (STB) asset or similar network computing device from one system operator to another, code executing in the IP STB not only authenticates downloaded software images using a public key provided in a serial-number assigned digital certificate, but also confirms that the serial number appears on a signed whitelist, or does not appear on a signed blacklist. The code executing in the STB further preferably enforces a rule that only the authority that signed the already-loaded whitelist/blacklist may replace it with a new list. Such a sticky whitelist/blacklist ensures that if the STB boots or resets in a new network, the existing authentication list will not be replaced by a list that is valid for a new or different network, and, as a result, that new software code images will not be authenticated.

摘要： The present invention provides a connector arrangement for connecting and locking tubular members. The connector consists of two tubular members (100, 110) and a coupling member. The tubular members are threaded together to create a threaded connection. The locking arrangement is provided by a pathway (120, 130) formed on the tubular member whereby a locking member (500) can be inserted in to the pathway to lock the threaded connection. The locking arrangement may also be provided by a plurality of castellation members (614, 714) disposed on each tubular member. The connector may also have a separate coupling member (620) which has opposite right-hand (622R) and left-hand (622L) threaded ends to threadedly mate with the threads of the two tubular members.
