In one aspect, the system includes an energy scavenging module, energy storage module, a load circuit having at least one functional block providing a given functionality, and a power management module arranged for providing power supplied by the energy scavenging module to the load circuit or for exchanging power with the energy storage module. The power management module may further include a tuning module configured to tune the at least one functional block of the load circuit according to a given configuration scheme.

摘要： A system and method for estimating remaining run-time of an autonomous system by indirect measure is disclosed. In one aspect, the system includes a load circuit, an energy storage system (ESS) and an energy storage management system (ESM). The load circuit includes functional blocks. The ESS stores electric energy and is connected to the load circuit and configured to supply the varying electric current to the load circuit. The ESM is configured to estimate a remaining run-time of the autonomous system. The ESM includes an input connected to one of the functional blocks of the load circuit from which a first parameter being an indirect measure for the varying electric current supplied from the energy storage system to the load circuit is received. The ESM determines the remaining run-time from this first parameter.

摘要： The invention relates to a method and an apparatus, like a charger for determining the state-of-charge of a battery which has been charged or discharged and which has not reached its equilibrium state, the method comprising the steps of determining the EMF of the battery by extrapolation of the battery voltage sampled during relaxation after the charge or the discharge process, wherein the extrapolation is based on a model using only variables sampled during the relaxation process and deriving the state-of-charge from the EMF of the battery by using a predetermined relation between the EMF and the state-of-charge. This method is a voltage-prediction method without the need to store parameters beforehand. Instead, the voltage relaxation end value is determined based on the measured first part of a voltage relaxation curve and mathematical optimisation/fitting of a function to this measured part of the relaxation curve.

In one aspect, the energy harvesting module comprises an energy harvesting unit having a combined vibration energy/RF energy harvester. A single sensing element is used for both vibration energy harvest and for RF communication including RF energy harvesting. Energy harvested is transmitted to power management module which powers components of the energy harvesting module. Data relating to sensor output from the single sensing element is transmitted to a microcontroller and transmitted to a microprocessor unit on the computing device.

摘要： Disclosed is a method of estimating the state-of-charge of a rechargeable battery, taking into account the factors battery spread and ageing. The method comprises the steps of: determining the starting state-of-charge of the battery by measuring the voltage across the battery and converting this measured value into a state-of-charge value; charging the battery; integrating the charge current and determining the accumulated charge during charging of the battery and adding said value to the starting state-of-charge. Also disclosed is a method for determining the use time left of a rechargeable battery.
