    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toothed belt with improved durability.
      SOLUTION: The toothed belt 10 has a belt body 11 formed of an elastomer. The belt body 11 has a toothed rubber layer 12, to which a tooth part 20 is formed, and a rear rubber layer 22 provided to the rear face side of the belt. The surface of the toothed rubber layer 12 is covered with a tooth cloth 19. The tooth cloth 19 is woven with yarn extended in the longitudinal direction of the belt and yarn extended in the width direction. The yarn extended in the width direction includes polyarylate fiber yarn. The tooth cloth 19 is subjected to heat treatment after depositing a compound including rubber or latex on it before bonding it to the toothed rubber layer 12.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of belt while avoiding the generation of resonance phenomenon, and to lower the noise by forming the belt of the base material having uneven unit weight as a weight per unit length in the longitudinal direction along the longitudinal direction. SOLUTION: A power transmitting belt 20 is formed of a tooth surface part 23 having belt teeth 22 and a back surface part 26, and a core 24 formed of glass fiber or the like is embedded in the back surface part 26. The belt teeth 22 are respectively formed of a trapezoidal tooth, and a tooth cloth 28 is affixed to a surface of the belt teeth 22. In the base material forming the tooth surface part 23 and the back surface part 26, weight per unit length in the belt longitudinal direction, namely, unit weight thereof is uneven along the belt longitudinal direction. Namely, this base material has a first and a second belt parts A1, A2 having the unit weight different from each other. Since the base material forming the back surface part 26 and the tooth surface part 23 has the uneven unit weight along the belt longitudinal direction, even in the case where the number of revolution of a driving pulley is lowered, generation of resonance phenomenon is prevented.
