摘要： A method for sealing porous metals, which comprises applying powder of a eutectic alloy containing an element having a good diffusibility in a porous metal or powder of a mixture of metals capable of forming the eutectic alloy, to the surface of a porous metal member and heating the surface applied with the powder at a temperature higher than the eutectic temperature of the eutectic alloy to thereby cause the molten eutectic alloy to intrude into pores from the surface of the porous metal member, whereby the melting point of the molten alloy in the pores is promptly increased by diffusion of the element in the porous metal member to solidify the molten metal in the pores, sealing only pores present in the vicinity of the surface of the porous metal member.

摘要： A process for forming a sintered layer on a substrate of an iron-based material containing carbon. A sheet of powders of an alloy is prepared by mixing the powders with a solution of resin and rolling the mixture into a sheet. The sheet is then heated to a sintering temperature. In order to prevent carbon content in the substrate from diffusing to the powder sheet during the sintering process, a lamina is provided beneath the powder sheet for example by a metal plating, a metal oxide layer, an intermediate alloy powder sheet, a decarbonized layer.

摘要： A process for forming a wear-resistant, sintered layer on an iron based substrate which comprises steps of providing a first alloy sheet containing 94 to 99 weight % of Fe-Cr type alloy particles and 6 to 1 weight % of acryl binder and a second alloy sheet containing 94 to 99 weight % of eutectic alloy particles and 6 to 1 weight % of acryl binder, placing the first and second alloy sheets in a superposed condition on the substrate, and heating in a non-oxidating atmosphere to a temperature which is higher than a solidus temperature of the eutectic alloy but lower than a solidus temperature of the Fe-Cr type alloy.

A drive unit generates a drive signal by adding a bias voltage to an input data signal. A light modulation unit modulates input light output from a light source unit, in accordance with the drive signal, and outputs the results as optical signals. A forward monitoring unit monitors a forward signal of the light modulation unit and outputs the forward signal. A reverse monitoring unit monitors a reverse signal of the light modulation unit and outputs a reverse signal. A bias control unit controls the bias voltage so that a measured monitor ratio matches a target value of the ratio between the forward signal and the reverse signal, obtained when the operating point of the light modulation unit is in a predetermined position on its operation characteristic curve.

摘要： Novel compounds, 4-tert.-butyl-1,2-benzenedithiol and bis(4-tert.-butyl-1,2-dithiophenolate) metal complexes having the general formula of ##STR1## wherein M represents a trivalent transition metal, and A represents a quarternary ammonium are provided.The novel benzenedithiol is produced by reacting 4-tert.-butylbenzenethiol or di(4-tert.-butylphenyl)disulfide with sulfur monochloride in the presence of iodine or a Lewis acid in a solvent, and then reducing the resultant product with a metal selected from the group consisting of zinc, tin, iron and aluminum in the presence of an acid.The novel Cu, Co and Ni complexes are produced by reacting the benzenedithiol with a salt of the corresponding divalent transition metal in the presence of an alkoxide metal or a hydride metal and a quarternary ammonium salt in a solvent under an oxidative atmosphere.The complexes strongly absorb rays in the region of ultraviolet, visible or near infrared, and are useful intermediates for the production of optical information recording media.
