摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst carrier for exhaust gas purification that can obtain a transition metal carrier catalyst that shows excellent catalytic activity even when being exposed to high temperature, especially high catalytic activity from comparatively cold temperature.SOLUTION: A catalyst carrier for exhaust gas purification comprises a complex metal oxide porous body including alumina, ceria, and zirconia, an inclusion ratio of the alumina being 30-80 mass%, wherein in the complex metal oxide porous body after burning for 5 hours in air at 1100°C, in 100 fine small regions (one fine small region is length 300 nm×width 330 nm) obtained from an energy dispersion type X-ray analysis performed by a scan transmission electron microscope with a spherical surface aberration correction device, a condition in which standard deviations of an inclusion ratio (unit: at%) of an aluminum element, a cerium element and a zirconium element are all at most 19 is satisfied.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound oxide in which a pyrochlore phase is stabilized by arranging a diffusion barrier around the pyrochlore phase and which is excellent in an oxygen storage capacity and is used for an exhaust gas purifying catalyst, and to provide an exhaust gas purifying catalyst including the compound oxide, and further, a method for producing the compound oxide.SOLUTION: A compound oxide is composed of an MgAlO-CeO-ZrOternary system compound oxide, and has a pyrochlore phase in which Ce and Zr are regularly arrayed. A method for producing the compound oxide includes: a step of adding a precipitant to a solution containing a cerium compound and a zirconium compound to form a first coprecipitate, firing it, and obtaining a first fired material; a step of adding a precipitant to a solution containing a magnesium compound and an aluminum compound to form a second coprecipitate, firing it, and obtaining a second fired material; and a step of producing the compound oxide which is composed of the MgAlO-CeO-ZrOternary system compound oxide, and has the pyrochlore phase in which Ce and Zr are regularly arrayed, by mixing, heating and reducing the first and second fired materials.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen storage material for an exhaust gas purification catalyst having more excellent stability under high temperatures.SOLUTION: There is provided a composite oxide material which contains crystalline particles having a pyrochlore structure of a ceria-zirconia composite oxide and crystals having a pyrochlore structure of a lanthana-zirconia composite oxide present on the particle surface, wherein at least a part of the crystals of the lanthana-zirconia composite oxide is solid-solved on the surface of the crystalline particles of the ceria-zirconia composite oxide. The pyrochlore structure of the ceria-zirconia composite oxide is stabilized in the composite oxide material and the composite oxide material is suppressed in deterioration in oxygen storage capacity associated with a phase change into a fluorite structure.
