    • PURPOSE:To prevent making a housing member in a large size by providing a tapered surface and a circular groove on the inner surface of the housing member, a slit in a resin rack bush main body, and an engaging pinion and a holder at one end of the bush main body, and making the depth of the circular groove deeper than the height of an engaging projection. CONSTITUTION:A slit 41 is provided to a bush main body 5, it is installed to the installing surface 22 of an end stopper 10, and an engaging projection 40 of a rack bush 11 is engaged to a circular groove 20 of the end stopper 10. The diameter of the holder 50 of the rack bush 11 is made a little smaller than the diameter of the peripheral surface of a rack shaft 12. By inserting the rack shaft 12 in the holder 50 under such a condition, a space is generated between the engaging projection 40 of the rack bush 11 and the circular groove 20 of the end stopper 10. A tapered surface 21 is provided between the rack bush main body 51 and the end stopper 10. As a result, the rack bush 11 holds the rack shaft 12 elastically by the holder 50.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of comfortableness to drive in a manual mode by constituting not to set a damping force to the maximum value in the manual mode and to control the damping force in response to the running state in an automatic mode, in the captioned controller variable damping force im multistages for a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:Mode selecting signals 25, 26, a vehicle speed 14, a steering angle 17, a throttle angle 19, a control signal 20, a shift lever positioning signal 23 are inputted to a microcomputer 29. A manual mode and an automatic mode are determined by the combination of the mode selecting signals 25, 26 as shown in the table 1. In the normal fixing of the manual mode, a damping force of each absorber is set to the minimum value through each actuator, and in the spot fixing, the damping force is set to an intermediate value. In the normal base of the automatic mode, the damping force is set to the value between the minimum value and maximum value, in response to the signal from each sensor, and in the spot base, the damping force is set to the value between the intermediate value and maximum value. By this constitution, it is possible to prevent the lowering of comfortableness to drive without being set to the maximum damping force in the manual mode.

    • PURPOSE: To reduce a vibration in the axial direction, by fixing two retainers being spaced to a bar-shaped suspension member, interposing between the both retainers a retainer fixed to the side of a car body and providing a rubber-state elastic member with a play air gap being spaced between one of the former said two opposed retainers and the latter said interposed retainer.
      CONSTITUTION: This shock absorptive connection construction 17, for shock absorptively connecting with a car body a bar-shaped suspension member 16 of strut bar or the like in a Macfarson strut type suspension, equips the first and the second retainer 25, 27 mutually spaced along an axial line 19 and fixed to the bar-shaped suspension member 16 while having the first and the second surface 32, 33 oppositely facing to each other. While the construction 17 equips the third retainer 22 provided between the both retainers 25, 27 and fixed to a car body through a bracket 21 while having the third and the fourth surface 34, 35 oppositely facing to said each surface 32, 33. And the construction 17 provides a rubber-state elastic member 23 to be interposed between the first and the second retainers 25, 27 under a condition that a predetermined play air gap 36 is left between the first and the third surfaces 32, 34.
