The seal surface 27a is flush with a fixed surface 271, and annularly abutted on a back surface 292 of a valve part 295 around a discharge port 23b. The recessed groove 273 is recessed from the fixed surface 271 outside the seal surface 27a, and both edges of the valve part 295 are separated from its bottom part. The receiving surface 27b is flush with the fixed surface 271, and abutted on a back surface 292 of a fore end area of the valve part 295. The supporting surface 27d is flush with the fixed surface 271, and abutted on the back surface 292 of a center area of the valve part 295. An extension part 272 extending so as to divide the discharge port 23b into two sections is formed on the valve plate 27. The supporting surface 27d is formed on the extension part 272.

      SOLUTION: The compressor comprises a valve plate 27 provided between a compression chamber 24 and a discharge chamber 5b, the valve plate 27 having a discharge port 23b passing therethrough to make the compression chamber 24 communicate with the discharge chamber 5b, the discharge port 23b opened and closed by a discharge reed valve 29a. The discharge reed valve 29a is composed of a fixed portion 291a fixed to the valve plate 27, a liftable root 292a extending from the fixed portion 291a, and a valve 293a extending from the root 292a for opening and closing the discharge port 23b. The discharge reed valve 29a has through-holes 37 passing through the root 292a. Each through-hole 37 has a cross section area on one face abutting on the valve plate 27 smaller than a cross section area on the other face.
