    • An image scanning device includes a base part; and multiple image sensors each including a substrate, a line sensor including scanning elements arranged on the substrate, and a holder for holding the substrate. The base part holds the image sensors such that the scanning elements of an image sensor partly overlap the scanning elements of an adjacent image sensor in the main-scanning direction. The coefficients of linear expansion of the substrate and the base part are substantially the same; the holder and the base part are fixed together at a first fixing point; the holder and the substrate are fixed together at a second fixing point; and the distance in the main-scanning direction between the first fixing point and the second fixing point and the direction of the second fixing point with respect to the first fixing point are the same for all the image sensors.

    • The present invention provides a visible light-sensitive composition which is highly sensitive to a visible light and is useful as an electronic circuit forming material, a lithographic printing material, etc., said visible light-sensitive composition comprising (a) a polymer comprising a repeating unit represented by general formula (I): wherein R1, R2, and R3 are the same or different and each represents substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted aryl, or substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl, or alternatively R1 and R2 form cycloalkyl together with the adjacent carbon atom, and R4 represents lower alkyl, (b) a compound that generates an acid by visible light irradiation and (c) a sensitizing dye.

    • An object of the present invention is to provide a method for effectively producing, within a short period of time, a radical polymer having controlled molecular weight distribution or a narrow molecular weight distribution profile, the method including polymerizing a radical-polymerizable monomer. Another object of the invention is to provide a microreactor which can be readily fabricated. The invention attains the objects through provision of a method for producing a radical polymer, which method includes feeding a radical polymerization initiator and a radical-polymerizable monomer into a reaction tube having an inner diameter of 2 mm or less and performing polymerization in the reaction tube in a homogeneous liquid state under flow conditions, and a microreactor having a jacket for allowing a temperature-regulating fluid to pass therethrough and a plurality of round tubes which are arranged in parallel in the jacket, each having an inner diameter of 2 mm or less, wherein reaction temperature in the round tubes can be regulated through flowing of the temperature-regulating fluid in the jacket.
