The supply apparatus 11 and the agitation means 29 of metal material at the moment of operation starting are controlled to be inactive until the temperature of the melting vessel attains a predetermined value and to start operating when the predetermined temperature is attained, allowing to supply and agitate the metal material. The supply and the agitation of metal material after the predetermined temperature is attained, are performed while gradually supplying and agitating the metal material until metal material of at least 6 times or more of the maximum injection volume is accumulated in melt state.

    • There is provided an injection apparatus comprised of a heating cylinder which is closed by a front end member having a nozzle. The apparatus is further comprised of a plasticating screw in the heating cylinder in a freely rotating and reciprocating manner, and a plunger connected to the front end of the screw. The plunger has a conical front end in which flow channels are formed. The front end member has a measuring chamber formed therein at an internal central location thereof. The measuring chamber has a predetermined length and an internal diameter which is reduced by 8 to 15% with respect to an internal diameter of the heating cylinder. The diameter of the injection plunger is set almost equal to the diameter of the measuring chamber, whereby the injection plunger is inserted into the measuring chamber in a freely reciprocating manner. A gap is formed on the external peripheral surface of the plunger due to the difference between the heating cylinder internal diameter and the plunger diameter, and the gap functions as a plastication-accelerating block. The block is formed so as to have a distance longer than an injection stroke, whereby uniform plastication is achieved and uneven temperature in the material is eliminated. Further, the plunger advance blocks the gap, which leads to uniform density and precise measurement of the material.

    • An injection apparatus for transferring melted metals is capable of metering and degassing the melted metal in a reservoir to reserve metals in the liquid phase for injection. The injection apparatus includes a heating cylinder having a metering chamber. An injection screw is movably and rotationally installed within the heating cylinder. A tip end of the injection screw forms a plunger insertable into the metering chamber with a clearance for sliding. The reservoir includes an axial portion free of screw flights between the plunger and a feeding portion that has a screw flight around its axis. A projected portion for limiting the feeding of granular metals flowing to the reservoir and for preventing the metals in liquid phase from flowing backward during injection is provided on a boundary between the feeding portion and the reservoir.

    • An injection molding machine for low-melting point metallic material has an injection mechanism having a tip portion, a melting cylinder and a rear portion holding a drive mechanism. The tip portion has a weighing chamber and a nozzle member feeding a mold. The melting cylinder is held at an oblique angle to promote gravity flow of the molten metal toward the tip portion. The melting cylinder encloses an agitating and injection mechanism that rotates and advances or retreats freely within the cylinder. One agitating and injection mechanism has a hollow shaft surrounding an injection rod tipped by an injection plunger that moves lengthwise in the shaft and agitating wings disposed around the tip end of the hollow shaft. The wings reach the inner sides of the cylinder and rotate. The plunger may extend beyond the shaft to be inserted in the weighing chamber.

    • It is an object of the present invention to prevent oxidation during the metal melting, by suspending both heating and supply of metal material under the monitoring by measuring the oxygen concentration in the inactive gas atmosphere. A oxidation prevent method of melting metal material by a melting vessel 1 comprising inside a rotatable agitation member 8, having a weighing chamber 4 communicating with a nozzle member 2, and an injection member 9 advanceably and retractably inserting an extremity injection plunger 12 passing through the agitation member 8 in the weighing chamber 4, and the melting vessel being installed on a slant with the nozzle member 2 downside. The space area over the melted metal surface 15a of the melting vessel 1 is made into inactive gas atmosphere. The oxygen concentration in this space area is measured and monitored. It is judged as error when the measured oxygen concentration exceeds a predetermined reference value, and heating and material supply are suspended to prevent the melt metal from oxidizing.
