    • An optical fiber coating device that recoats a coating removed portion of an optical fiber with light-curing resin has an observation window through which a mold inside of a shielding lid that covers the mold can be confirmed in a state where the shielding lid remains closed. There is provided an open/close lid that can open/close the observation window. An optical shielding guard plate is provided around the observation window. A filter that cuts off the external light having a specific wavelength is provided on the observation window. There is provided a photo sensor that can detect the amount of light of a light source that irradiates a light onto the light-curing resin, and the amount of light can be automatically adjusted on the basis of the detected result of the photo sensor. An alarm that urges to exchange the light source is raised on the basis of the detected result of the photo sensor. There is provided a TV camera that can capture the interior of the mold and other portions to be observed. There is provided a mirror that projects a portion that cannot be directly observed among the portions to be observed.

    • An optical fiber coating forming device forms a coating of an ultraviolet light hardening type in an optical fiber by precisely controlling an ultraviolet light output of a light source. The optical fiber coating forming device has a light source (2) for irradiating ultraviolet light to resin for coating formation molded to a coating removing portion (4) of an optical fiber core wire (3), a light receiver (5) for detecting intensity of the ultraviolet light by receiving the ultraviolet light irradiated to the resin for coating formation from the light source (2), and an environmental sensor (20) for detecting environmental information. The environmental sensor (20) includes at least a temperature sensor (6) and selectively includes a humidity sensor (7) and an atmospheric pressure sensor (8). An optical output controller (1) feedback-controls the optical output of the light source (2) on the basis of the environmental information detected by the environmental sensor (20), the ultraviolet light intensity detected by the light receiver (5), and control data for controlling the optical output of the light source (2) based on the ultraviolet light intensity and the above environmental information.

    • A coating device for coating a coating solution on a web has a roller and a weir which partially constructs a solution store space. In the solution store space the coating solution is stored. When the web sequentially moves in a direction, the roller rotates and the solution in the solution store space is supplied on the web. Thereby a part of the solution overflows the weir such that another part of the solution may remain on the web to have a constant width in a widthwise direction of the web. A drying device has plural drying zones in which the web is fed after the coating of the coating solution. One of the drying zones is neighbored to the coating device. A top of the plural drying zones is constructed of a blow regulation member so as to confront to the solution on the web. The blow regulation member has holes through which is exhausted a gas evaporated from the layer of the solution on the web.
