    • There is provided a polypropylene resin composition comprising a propylene polymer (A) containing 0 to 70% by mass of a propylene homopolymer (A-1) and 30 to 100% by mass of a propylene-ethylene block copolymer (A-2) defined below, an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer (B) defined below, and an inorganic filler (C), wherein the proportion of the amount of the (A), the proportion of the amount of (B), and the proportion of the amount of (C) relative to the total amount of the (A), the (B) and the (C) are 40 to 94% by mass, 5 to 30% by mass, and 1 to 30% by mass, respectively, the propylene-ethylene block copolymer (A-2) is a mixture of a propylene homopolymer component and a propylene-ethylene random copolymer component, wherein the intrinsic viscosity, as measured in Tetralin of 135° C., of the propylene-ethylene random copolymer component is within the range of 2.0 to 8.0 dl/g, the ethylene-α-olefin copolymer (B) is a copolymer of ethylene and an α-olefin having 4 to 20 carbon atoms, the copolymer having a density of 0.85 to 0.89 g/cm3 and a melt flow rate, as measured at 190° C. under a 2.16 kg load in accordance with JIS K7210, of more than 10 g/10 min and not more than 40 g/10 min.

    • The present process includes a mold for producing a thermoplastic resin molded article, comprising paired sliding female and male mold members, which mutually slide at the time of mold closing. A product-forming portion and a non-product-forming portion are provided in the cavity of the mold, the mold further including a resin-supplying opening. A gate portion located at a boundary between the product-forming portion and non-product-forming portion interconnects the two portions. At closing of the mold, the width of the gate at the product-forming side is less than the thickness of the formed product, and stepwise or continuously widens toward the non-product-forming side. Using this mold, a thermoplastic resin molded article, with or without a laminated skin material, can be molded in good efficiency and low cost, further having a non-product-forming portion, which can be readily trimmed from the product-forming portion.

    • The present invention provides a process for producing a multilayer molded article having a skin material laminated with at least a part of the surface of a substrate formed of a thermoplastic resin. The process has steps of supplying a skin material to between a pair of mold halves and supplying a molten thermoplastic resin to between the skin material and the molding surface of one of the mold halves. The process uses, as the skin material, a skin material which has at least a foamed urethane layer and a nonfoamed backing layer wherein the product of the density, &rgr; (g/cm3), of the foamed urethane layer and the weight, W (g/m2), of the backing layer is not less than 2. This process prevents crush of the foamed urethane layer and can produce a multilayer molded article with good appearance.
