      SOLUTION: The rotating anode X-ray tube is provided with: a fixed shaft 13 having a first large diameter part 26-1 at a part and with a flow channel 30 for cooling fluid to flow along formed inside; a cooling tub 31 made by enlarging a flow channel diameter of a part of the flow channel 30 by thinly forming a thickness of the first large diameter part 26-1 of the fixed shaft 13; a rotating cylinder 19 supported to the fixed shaft 13 in free rotation by covering an area including the first large diameter part 26-1 out of the fixed shaft 13 through liquid metal 23; a hollow disc-shaped target 15 fitted to an outer periphery face of the rotating cylinder 19, a cathode 16 arranged in opposition to the target 15; and a vacuum envelope 18 housing the fixed shaft 13, the rotating cylinder 19, the target 15 and the cathode inside, for supporting the fixed shaft 13.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and ligthweight rotating anode type X-ray tube with a high output capable of lessening friction loss while maintaining high heat transmission efficiency.
      SOLUTION: The rotating anode type X-ray tube has a first hollow disk-shaped rotor section, and a second hollow cylinder-shaped rotor section integrally fixed to a first rotor. The rotor sections are rotatably supported by a fixed shaft. The fixed shaft has a columnar hydrodynamic bearing opposite to a cylindrical inner surface of the second rotor section via a first gap, and a small-diameter section opposite to a cylindrical inner surface of the second rotor section by spacing a third gap communicated with a disk section opposite to a disk-shaped inner surface by spacing a second gap and first and second gaps and formed in a smaller diameter than the hydrodynamic bearing and integrally connecting the columnar hydrodynamic bearing and the disk section. The first, second, and third gaps are filled with a lubricant, and a ring-shaped projection is fixed to the second rotor section so as to face the disk section in order to retain the lubricant in the third gap on the small diameter section.

The oil discharge path has discharge capacity for discharging more lubricating oil as compared with supply quantity of lubricating oil in the supply path.
