摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents providing method or the like realizable in a system in which desired information is obtained anytime and anywhere in an existing infrastructure and a new infrastructure in course of practice and an appropriate service corresponding to the using condition of a viewer is provided.
SOLUTION: In the contents providing method, a contents provider performs provision through a network. First, in response to a demand from a user, second stream data for which images are thinned or the like are transmitted through the network to a user terminal. A user reproduces the second stream data, and in the case that the user desires, first stream data capable of reproducing complete contents are requested from the user through the network. When charging registration or the individual authentication of the user based on information registered beforehand or the like is performed, the first stream data are transmitted through the network to the user terminal.
