    • In an ink-jet printing method and ink-jet printer for printing an image on a printing medium by driving print elements of a printhead and ejecting ink in accordance with an image signal, the timing of driving the plurality of print elements of the printhead is divided into a plurality of timings, and print elements, of the plurality of print elements, which are spaced apart from each other by a predetermined distance are selected as one group at each of the plurality of timings. The print elements belonging to the selected group are energized and driven. The dispersed print elements are changed a predetermined period of time after the driving, and the changed print elements are driven. This driving operation is repeatedly executed for all the print elements of the printhead to print an image corresponding to the image signal.

    • A novel program for supporting design of a γ′ precipitation strengthened platinum group element-added Ni-based superalloy. To support the design, a computer is allowed to function as input means (1) for inputting the composition, working temperature, and working stress of an Ni-based superalloy, storage means (2) for previously storing the constituent elements of the Ni-based superalloy, the structure factor calculation formula thereof, and the alloy characteristics calculation formula thereof, structure factor calculating means (3) for calculating the structure factor from the alloy composition by using the structure factor calculation formula read from the storage means (2), alloy characteristics calculating means (4) for calculating an alloy characteristics from the alloy composition, the structure factor, the working temperature, and the working stress by using the alloy characteristics calculate formula read out of the storage means (2), and output mean (5) for outputting the structure factor and alloy characteristics together with the alloy composition. Therefore, alloy characteristics analysis and alloy composition search of a γ′ precipitation strengthened platinum group element-added Ni-based superalloy are simply, easily, and efficiently conducted. A design supporting device therefor is also disclosed.

    • In the liquid discharge recording head provided with a stopper member formed of an elastic member to be penetrated by a hollow needle member for liquid supply into a liquid preserving chamber in the recording head, the invention enables smooth insertion of the front end of the needle member into the stopper member without insertion failure. The liquid discharge recording head is provided with a head chip having a nozzle for discharging liquid, and a frame member connected thereto and having a liquid chamber for containing the liquid to be supplied thereto. A hole portion is formed in a portion of the frame member, and joint rubber is pressed into such hole portion. In the joint rubber, there is formed in advance a fissure hole, to be penetrated by a hollow needle provided in the main body of the liquid discharge recording apparatus and having fissures in not less than three directions from the crossing center of the fissures, in a plane perpendicular to the direction of depth of the hole portion.
