    • A photothermographic material including, on a support, at least two image forming layers each including at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent for silver ions, and a binder, wherein the image forming layers have spectral sensitivities that are different from each other, at least one layer of the image forming layers is a silver image forming layer which forms an image substantially constituted by a silver image, and at least one other layer of the image forming layers is a color image forming layer including a color image forming material. A photothermographic material which records a composite image made up of a silver image and a color image of different kinds of image information is provided. Particularly, a photothermographic material capable of forming a fusion image useful as a medical diagnosis image is provided.

    • The present invention provides a black and white photothermographic material having, on at least one surface of a support, an image forming layer containing at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent for silver ions, and a binder, wherein 70% or more of a total projected area of the photosensitive silver halide is occupied by tabular grains having an aspect ratio of 2.5 or more, a mean projected area equivalent diameter of 0.5 μm to 8 μm, and a mean grain thickness of 0.02 μm to 0.2 μm, and a ratio of a number of sites capable of forming a development initiation point on a corner portion or a fringe portion of the photosensitive silver halide grain to all development initiation points is 50% or more. Also disclosed is an image forming method of forming a radiation image by using a fluorescent intensifying screen.

    • A process for manufacturing a photothermographic material comprising a support and an image forming layer on the support, containing at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent for a silver ion, and a binder, comprising mixing the photosensitive silver halide with the non-photosensitive organic silver salt: said photosensitive silver halide having a silver iodide content of 40 mol % to 100 mol %, and an average particle size of 5 nm to 80 nm, and said photothermographic material further containing at least one compound selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by formulae (T1) and (T2); Wherein in formula (T1), R represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an aryl group, a halogen atom, an amino group, a nitro group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted carboxyl group or salt thereof, or a sulfonic group or salt thereof, wherein in formula (T2), R represents an alkyl or alkenyl group having 20 or less carbon atoms, an aryl, alkaryl, or aralkyl group having 20 or less carbon atoms, an aliphatic or aromatic heterocyclic group containing 6 or less ring atoms, or a carbocyclic group containing 6 or less carbon atoms. A photothermographic material having high sensitivity and excellent preservation stability and excellent in light fastness of images is obtained.
