    • A photothermographic material including, on at least one side of a support, an image forming layer including at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent for silver ions, and a binder, wherein the photosensitive silver halide has an average silver iodide content of 40 mol % or higher, and the photothermographic material comprises a compound represented by the following formula (I) as the reducing agent: wherein R1, R2, R3, and R4 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent; R5 and R6 each independently represent an alkyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group, an acyl group, or a sulfonyl group; and R7 represents R11—O—CO—, R12—CO—CO—, R13—NH—CO—, R14—SO2—, R15—W—C(R16)(R17)—, R19—SO2NHCO—, R20—CONHCO—, R21—SO2NHSO2—, R22—CONHSO2— or (M)1/nOSO2—.     • The invention provides an image forming method for forming an image using a photothermographic material having an image forming layer on both sides of a support, wherein the image forming layer contains at least a photosensitive silver halide, an organic silver salt, a reducing agent for silver ions represented by the following formula (I), a coupler, and a binder: wherein R1, R2, R3, and R4 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent; R5 and R6 each independently represent an alkyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group, an acyl group, or a sulfonyl group; R7 represents R11—O—CO—, R12—CO—CO—, R13—NH—CO—, R14—SO2—, R15—W—C(R16)(R17)(R18)—, R19—SO2NHCO—, R20—CONHCO—, R21—SO2NHSO2—, R22—CONHSO2— or (M)1/nOSO2—; and M represents a cation having a valency of n.     • A silver halide photographic material comprises a silver halide emulsion layer provided on a support. In the photographic material of the present invention, the silver halide emulsion is sensitized with a new tellurium sensitizer. The tellurium sensitizer is represented by the formula (I) or (II): ##STR1## in which each of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 independently is an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group or an acyl group; at least two of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are combined with each other to form a heterocyclic ring; R.sup.5 is an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; R.sup.6 is --NR.sup.7 R.sup.8, --NR.sup.9 --NR.sup.10 R.sup.11 or --OR.sup.12 ; R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 may be combined with each other to form a heterocyclic ring; each of R.sup.7, R.sup.8, R.sup.9, R.sup.10, R.sup.11 and R.sup.12 independently is an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 may be combined with each other to form a heterocyclic ring; and R.sup.9 and R.sup.11 or R.sup.10 and R.sup.11 may be combined with each other to form a heterocyclic ring.
