The relay station may receive a connection request from a mobile station of the mobile communication system; determine whether communication resources of the mobile communication system should be allocated to the mobile station based on information received from one or more other relay stations and/or based on a distance between the mobile station and one or more other relay stations and/or a distance between the mobile station and one or more base stations; allocate communication resources to the mobile station if the communication resources should be allocated to the mobile station; and signal to a communication device of the mobile communication system the allocation of communication resources to the mobile station if the communication resources should be allocated to the mobile station.
