摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filler for biological filtration which has an uneven peripheral side face of the filler because of grooves, is difficult to come into tight contact with other fillers when filled inside a septic tank, can enhance contact efficiency with bacterial cells, allows the bacterial cells to easily adhere to not only the inner surface (a luminal part) but also the outer surface (the peripheral side), is difficult to peel, and accordingly is excellent in a filtration function.SOLUTION: This filler for the biological filtration includes a hollow tubular body 1 formed by baking clay for brick compounded with a proper amount of particulate pumice, and is formed with the grooves 2 each open at both ends on the peripheral side of the hollow tubular body 1 in the peripheral direction.
