    • Provide is an image decoding apparatus which reliably prevents deterioration of the image quality of decoded images which have been previously coded. An image decoding apparatus (200) includes: an inverse quantization and inverse orthogonal transform unit (220) and an adder (230) which decode a coded image included in a coded stream (Str) to generate a decoded image (Rc); an entropy decoding unit (210) which extracts cross-correlation data (p) which indicates a cross-correlation between the decoded image (Rc) and an image which corresponds to the decoded image and has not yet been coded; and an adaptive filter (240) which computes a filter parameter (w) based on the extracted cross-correlation data (p), and performs a filtering operation on the decoded image (Rc) according to the filter parameter (w).

    • A video coding method according to the present invention is for coding a signal to be coded which represents a video, and includes: generating a prediction signal predictive of the signal to be coded, based on a coded signal coded prior to the coding of the signal to be coded (S16); quantizing a prediction error obtained by subtracting the prediction signal from the signal to be coded to generate quantized coefficients (S12); inversely quantizing the quantized coefficients to generate a quantized prediction error signal (S13); generating first filter information, based on statistical properties of only the prediction signal among the prediction signal and the quantized prediction error signal, and generating second filter information, based on statistical properties of only the quantized prediction error signal among the prediction signal and the quantized prediction error signal (S14); and performing entropy coding on the quantized coefficients generated in the quantizing and the first and second filter information generated in the generating of filter information so as to generate a coded signal (S15).

    • A video coding method and a video coding device can optimize prediction efficiency and coding efficiency.A video coding device (100) codes video data, by performing motion compensation with sub-pel resolution by using an adaptive interpolation filter for calculating a pixel value of a sub pixel for interpolation between full pixels configuring an input image included in the video data. The video coding device (100) includes: a motion compensation unit (160) that (i) sets a filter property for an adaptive interpolation filter on a predetermined process unit basis, and determining, for each of sub-pel positions relative to a full pixel, a plurality of filter coefficients of the adaptive interpolation filter having the set filter property, and (ii) performs the motion compensation with sub-pel resolution, by applying the adaptive interpolation filter having the determined filter coefficients to the input image; and a subtraction unit (110) that generates a prediction error, by subtracting, from the input image, a prediction image generated in the motion compensation; and a coding unit (190) that codes the prediction error.
