    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire-resistant modified wood having enhanced noncombustibility or flame resistance, capable of reducing costs and contributing to environmental preservation with use of shells as waste substance; and manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: The fire-resistant modified wood is manufactured by performing: a fine pulverizing step S1 of fine pulverizing shells; a solution preparation step S2 of dispersing fine pulverized shells obtained in the fine pulverizing step S1 in a solvent so as to prepare a solution having a predetermined concentration; an immersion step S3 of immersing a wood in the solution obtained in the solution preparation step S2 under reduced pressure, for impregnation of the cells of wood and cell interstices inside the wood with the solution; and a drying step S4 of drying the wood obtained in the immersion step S3.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilization method and a sterilization device each for sporulation microorganism adhering to the surface of spice using electrolytic water. SOLUTION: This sterilization method using electrolytic water comprises bringing an object of sterilization containing sporulation microorganism into contact with alkaline electrolytic water obtained by electrolysis of a chloride water solution to let the spore of the microorganism sprout and bringing the resultant product into contact with acid electrolytic water obtained by the electrolysis of the chloride water solution, within a given time until a growth curve rises so as to deaden the microorganism. The microorganism is brought into contact with the acid electrolytic water within six hours after contacting with the alkaline electrolytic water. The alkaline electrolytic water is pH 10.5-11.5, and the acid electrolytic water is pH 2.3-3.5 and contains >=30 ppm of available chlorine. The object of sterilization is one kind selected from coriander, turmeric, and black pepper having living microorganism on the surface. The sterilization device has an electrolytic water-producing means 1, a transportation means 25 for transporting an object of sterilization, an alkaline electrolytic water contact means 26, a constant temperature maintenance means 27, and an acid electrolytic water contact means 28.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain a substance useful as a hypotensive agent, by mixing and extracting a pressed oil component from a step of preparing soybean oil with water, an aqueous solution of an acid, aqueous solution of a salt or aqueous solution of the acid and salt, centrifuging the extract, and separating the substance from the aqueous phase by the concentration and/or salting out.
      CONSTITUTION: A pressed oil component, e.g. miscella, oil (95%) after removing a solvent from the miscella, crude oil or degummed oil, from a step of preparing soybean oil is mixed and extracted with water, an aqueous solution of an acid, e.g. lactic or acetic acid, aqueous solution of a salt, e.g. ammonium sulfate or common salt, or aqueous solution of the acid and salt at 90°C or below, and the resultant extract is then centrifuged. The resultant aqueous phase is then concentrated and/or salted out with the ammonium sulfate, common salt, etc. to separate the hypotensive component, which is if necessary dried to afford the substance having the aimed hypotensive component. The resultant component has apparently hypotensive action in animal experiments (rats) and a relatively long duration of the hypotensive action.
