    • A two-way clutch has a rotational driving unit, a rotational driven unit, a roller interposed between the rotational driven unit and a collar, which is a fixed member and is not rotatable. A recess is formed in an inner peripheral surface of the collar, so that the roller is engaged with the recess. As a result, a locked condition between the rotational driven unit and the collar by means of the roller is not easily released. Therefore, the rotational driven unit is stably held at its locked position, even when a high vibration, a high load and/or a large pulsation is applied to the rotational driven unit.

    • The throttle position corresponding to the rotational angle of the throttle valve is calculated based on electric signals output from a rotor position detector constituted by three Hall ICs that detect the rotational position of a magnet rotor of a brushless DC motor. The motor current control quantity of the brushless DC motor is so determined as to eliminate the difference between the calculated valve position and the target valve position. Though the throttle position sensor is omitted, the electric signals output from the rotor position detector are used for calculating both the valve position control quantity and the motor current control quantity.

    • A rear-projection type display device has a projection device, a transmission type screen, a housing, and input means. The rear-projection type display device includes a storage section, a distortion amount detection section, a correction amount calculation section, and a correction section. The storage section stores a distortion detection image to be displayed on the transmission type screen. The distortion amount detection section changes the distortion detection image in accordance with an operation inputted from the input means, and detects a distortion amount of the image based on operations inputted by the input means until the distortion detection image displayed on the transmission type screen is brought into a predetermined state. The correction amount calculation section calculates a correction amount based on the distortion amount. The correction section corrects an image projected by the projection device, based on the calculated correction amount.
