    • Disclosed is a synthesis method for synthesizing in a short time and selectively a microcrystal of a polymer complex having three three-dimensionally and regularly arranged channels.Specifically disclosed is a synthesis method of a polymer complex crystal wherein (1) a metallic solution, which is a mixture of zinc halide(II) and a solvent A that can dissolve the zinc halide, is mixed with (2) a ligand solution, which is a mixture of a tridentate ligand that has three coordination sites coordinated to zinc of the zinc halide and a solvent B that can dissolve the tridentate ligand, to be a single-phase solution, thereby synthesizing a microcrystal of a polymer complex having a three-dimensional coordination network formed by coordinating the tridentate ligand to the zinc and having channels that are three-dimensionally and regularly arranged in the three-dimensional coordination network.

    • In an air-fuel ratio feedback control system including at least one air-fuel ratio sensor downstream of a catalyst converter provided in an exhaust gas passage, an actual air-fuel ratio is controlled in accordance with the output of the downstream-side air-fuel ratio sensor. When at least one of the air-fuel ratio feedback control conditions for the downstream-side air-fuel ratio sensor is not satisfied the controlled air-fuel ratio is made an air-fuel ratio by an open loop control, while all the air-fuel ratio feedback control conditions for the downstream-side air-fuel ration sensor are satisfied the controlled air-fuel ratio is made the stoichiometric ratio (.lambda.=1) in accordance with the output of the downstream-side air-fuel ratio sensor. For a period after all the air-fuel ratio feedback control conditions for the downstream-side air-fuel ratio sensor are satisfied, the control by the output of the downstream-side air-fuel ratio sensor is prohibited, but, the controlled air-fuel ratio is made the stoichiometric ratio (.lambda.=1) by an open loop control or by the output of an upstream-side air-fuel ratio sensor.

    • A helically-shaped intake port comprising a helical portion and an inlet passage portion which is tangentially connected to the helical portion and extends so as to be slightly curved. The intake valve is arranged at the outlet open end of the helical portion. The first side wall of the inlet passage portion, which is located near the axis of the intake valve, has on its upper portion an inclined wall portion which is arranged to be directed downwards. The width of the inclined wall portion of the inlet passage portion is gradually increased towards the helical portion.
