    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DNA chip holder for improving the handleability of a quadrangular mini DNA chip having a side of a few millimeters when the mini DNA chip is introduced to an existing gene analysis automation system.
      SOLUTION: A pressing member in which a notch part is formed is fitted in a recession part of a plate-shaped holder body provided with the recession part to be in contact with at least two sides of the mini DNA chip having a quadrangular shape having a side of a few millimeters. After the mini DNA chip is housed in a housing space defined by the recession part of the holder body and the notch part of the pressing member, the pressing member is fastened by a screw. At this time, side surfaces of the mini DNA chip are pressed by wall surfaces of the notch part of the pressing member by the slight rotation of the pressing member in the same direction as the rotation direction of the screw to reliably hold the mini DNA chip in the housing space.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molecular diagnosis system for human lung cancer which can be used in common for four pathologic conditions of the human lung cancer and by which the four pathologic conditions can be automatically identified.
      SOLUTION: A fluorescence value of specimen cells and a fluorescence value of normal lung-derived cells are obtained from a DNA microarray on which a DNA probe set including oligonucleotide consisting of a DNA sequence expressed in sequence numbers 1-80 is mounted. Four evaluations concerning the fluorescence value are outputted for each spot. The result of estimation of each spot is cross-checked with an evaluation table of each pathologic condition which is previously prepared and the result of diagnosis of lung cancer is automatically determined.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem with a method of determining sleep phases: that is, while monitoring sleep conditions is indispensable for pathological analysis and health care associated with sleep disorders and sleep deprivation, and there is a sleep polygraph measuring method as an international standard for detecting sleeping conditions, it causes psychological pain as it requires a subject to wear a number of detectors, making the difficult to be obtained from the natural state of the subject.
      SOLUTION: Efforts are made to make more natural a measuring method that constrains a subject, and a means of indirectly gathering information from the subject's body by use of an air mat is an excellent method among these. However, the data available cannot help but become scarce, and conventionally there is only such a simple analysis as making a distinction between awakening and sleep or between REM sleep and non-REM sleep. Then, a method of classifying the data for analysis is established, so that six sleep phases conforming to the international standard can be identified based on the method. Thus, a variety of analyses, diagnoses and measures on sleep are taken more universally while eliminating such disturbances as differences among individuals and among physical conditions.
