摘要： Broadcasting waves transmitted from a broadcasting device include operation control information for operating peripheral devices on a receiver side in accordance with the contents of a broadcast program in addition to broadcast data about said broadcast program. The receiver outputs the broadcast data to a display device, and transmits an operation command signal dependent on the operation control information to the peripheral devices to operate the peripheral devices in accordance with the contents of the broadcast program. As a result, an air conditioner raises or lowers room temperature and an illumination device blinks according to the progress of the program.

摘要： A projector has a liquid crystal display panel for displaying an image, a lamp for illuminating the liquid crystal display panel, and a projection optical system for projecting light modulated by the image displayed. The lamp is held by a member whose position is variable to allow fitting of different types of lamp. The projector acquires data related to the lamp currently fitted and controls the light emission of the lamp on the basis of that data. The data includes the life of the lamp, so that the projector prevents the lamp to be lit longer than its remaining life. The remaining life is updated in accordance with how long the lamp has been lit. In addition to the lamp that is lit, an auxiliary lamp may be fitted so that the lamp that is lit can be switched to the auxiliary lamp as required. The lamp is formed into a single lamp unit together with a reflector or a casing to prevent the user from touching the lamp. The lamp is accessible for replacement only when it is in a predetermined position, where the lamp is never allowed when hot.

摘要： The present invention relates to a microbiocidal mat to be installed at the entrance of a clean zone in a biochemical plant, a hospital or a like facility, the mat comprising a mat body 1 containing an alkaline compound 5 as a microbicide. The mat body may further contain a surface active agent and/or a water-retentive agent, the water-retentive agent comprising a substance which is stable against water and has deliquescence. Where the mat body 1 contains the compound and the agents in powdery crystallized states, the mat body 1 is used in a wet state by supplying water thereto after the mat is installed at the entrance. When the mat body 1 is supplied with water, the alkaline compound is dissolved in water within the mat body 1 so that the mat body 1 is imparted with microbiocidal activity. A method of manufacturing such a mat comprises the steps of: impregnating the mat body 1 with an aqueous solution of the contained substances, and drying the mat body 1 to cause the contained substances to crystallize in the mat body 1.
