    • A mechanical pencil has a tubular member having a front end and a rear end. A slide member is disposed at the front end of the tubular member for axial sliding movement therein. The slide member has a lead passageway for receiving a pencil lead. A lead advancement mechanism undergoes axial movement within the tubular member and has a chuck body for undergoing advancing movement to advance the pencil lead through the lead passageway of the slide member and toward the front end of the tubular member and for undergoing retracting movement toward the rear end of the tubular member. The slide member is disposed in frictional engagement with the chuck body for retracting movement therewith.

    • A heat exchanger includes a vertical pressure vessel having a air-tight structure, one and another sets of fluid inlet/outlet ports provided to upper and lower portion of the vertical pressure vessel, respectively, and a heat exchanging module disposed in the pressure vessel to a portion between both sets of the fluid inlet/outlet ports, the heat exchanging module being formed by stacking a number of heat exchanging elements. At least one set of the fluid inlet/outlet ports are configured to provide a header composed of a pipe structural member having a bottom portion closed and a heat insulating material attached to an inner surface of the pipe structural member, and end portions of fluid flowing pipes communicating with the heat exchanging module are opened at the closed fluid inlet/outlet ports in the header.

    • A side-knock type mechanical pencil comprises a barrel having a front end, a rear end a lead feeding mechanism disposed in the barrel for axial movement within the barrel to feed a pencil lead toward the front end of the barrel. A knock button is disposed in a side portion of the barrel so that the knock button can be pressed inward in a radial direction of the barrel to move the lead feeding mechanism axially within the barrel to thereby feed the pencil lead toward the front end of the barrel. A lead passageway is disposed in the barrel for passing therethrough the pencil lead in a direction toward the front end of the barrel. The lead passageway has a diameter at least twice as large as a diameter of the pencil lead. At least one lead receiving member is disposed in the barrel between the lead passageway and the knock button for receiving the pencil lead. The lead receiving member has a lead insertion hole for permitting the pencil lead to pass therethrough and a head portion having an external diameter approximately equal to an internal diameter of the barrel.
