    • A drive circuit device for a display device which drives a plurality of source bus lines provided on a display panel includes a driver unit that receives a clock signal, a data signal and a control signal, sequentially fetches the data signal, and generates drive signals for the source bus lines in accordance to the fetched data signal. The device further includes a gate unit that, after elapse of specified time from the reception of the driver unit, and at a timing when a rear-stage drive circuit device starts receiving, starts outputting of a propagation signal including at least one of the clock signal, data signal and control signal to the rear-stage drive circuit device. Consequently, the power consumption required for supplying these signals and the generated amount of electromagnetic waves resulting from the signal supply can be suppressed.

    • When an input power supply fed to a liquid crystal display device is cut off, a gate-on power supply for driving a gate line of a display part is automatically changed from a first power supply that reduces luminance inclination unevenness in the display part to a second power supply that causes residual charges in liquid crystal to be discharged. Consequently, at a normal driving time, a good quality display image with reduced unevenness in luminance inclination can be obtained, and at a power-off time, the display due to the residual charges of the liquid crystal is cleared so that an after image can be prevented from being visible.

    • Disclosed are a liquid crystal display device and a method and a circuit for driving the same. A gradation difference between the image data to be supplied to the picture elements of the same color of two pixels adjacent in a horizontal direction is detected in a gradation difference judging section, and when the gradation difference is larger than a predetermined gradation difference, it is judged in the same pattern of a size relationship detecting section and a horizontal pattern counting section whether the size relationship between the gradations of the picture elements of the same color of the two pixels repeats in the horizontal direction at least a certain number of times or not. And hence, when the size relationship repeats at least a certain number of times, it is compared with those of a plurality of lines continuously arranged in a vertical direction, and it is judged on the basis of the result of the comparisons whether a flicker occurs or not. And hence, when the flicker may occur over a plurality of frames, a polarity pattern switching signal is changed, whereby a polarity pattern which determines the polarities of the image data to be supplied from a data driver to a liquid crystal display panel is switched.
