    • A work management method and system which manage a project executed by individuals or groups belonging to an organization. In response to a phase transition request from a task management unit, a workflow management unit performs transition and activation of a business phase included in a process definition, sets a work in work management table, and issues a task addition request. In response to an event addition request or a deletion request, an event management unit adds or deletes events to or from an event queue, monitors an occurrence of the event and, when the event occurs, sends a task status transition request to the task management unit. In response to the task addition request, the task management unit sets a task name and a task status name in the work management table, generates the event associated with the task name, issues the event addition request. In response to the task status transition request described above, the task management unit sets the task status name, such as “execute” or “complete”, in a task status column according to the type of the event. When the event type is “execute”, the task management unit generates the event and issues the event addition request; when the event type is “complete”, the unit issues a request to delete the generated event. When the task status values of all tasks, including the task that has completed, of the business phase are “complete”, the task management unit issues the phase transition request.

    • In a workflow management system, a mail instance can be easily registered as a workflow instance and workflow definitions, and a workflow instance can be replaced at any process stage by other workflow definitions including present workflow definitions. A mail flow pattern is extracted from a mail transmission audit data storage unit, and a flow definition comparison part compares the mail flow pattern with the flow definitions stored in a workflow definition storage unit. A definition registration part and an instance registration part register the mail flow pattern information as instance information of designated workflow definitions and as new workflow definitions. In accordance with predefined workflow definitions, intersectional workflow definitions and extended workflow definitions corresponding to a mail flow are selected and displayed. The mail flow pattern is registered in the workflow definition storage unit as flow definitions based upon the flow definitions selected from among the displayed workflow definitions.

    • An interoperable workflow management system controls an information disclosing range of a workflow case to prevent transmission delay even when the communication path has a small transmission capacity such that cancellation of the case is guaranteed and the status of processing of the case in its destination can be immediately known. To implement the system, workflow irrelevant data or pointer information indicating the data is selectively transmitted to the destination in accordance with the workflow management system thereof. At cancellation of the case, the irrelevant data is replaced with canceling data. When a request including pointer information for the workflow irrelevant data is received from the destination system, it is assumed that the workflow case is in process.

    • A torque wrench equipped with a cam-type torque detection mechanism is provided which is capable of detecting a torque with high accuracy, providing a non-unusual-feeling of handle operation after torque has been detected, and enabling tightening of fastened members such as bolts with safety. In a torque wrench equipped with the cam-type torque detection mechanism, a cam portion 27 formed on the outer circumference of a tubular cam 22 includes: a static engagement cam surface 27a with which a roller member 18 in a static status engages in a non-operated status; a gradually increasing torque peak cam surface 27b which is connected to the static engagement cam surface 27a and with which the roller member 18 is brought into contact while moving to thereby gradually increase the torque peak value; a cam top surface 27c forming the cam top portion continued to the gradually increasing torque peak cam surface 27b; a gradually decreasing torque cam surface 27d for gradually decreasing a plus torque to the roller member 18 to zero; and a minus torque cam surface 27e for imparting a minus torque to the roller member 18 having passed over the gradually decreasing torque cam surface 27d.

    • A solution for managing a set of artifacts for a runtime environment is provided, which enables improved tooling that supports runtime extensions to a runtime environment. In one embodiment, an extension handler is obtained for a runtime extension to the runtime environment. The runtime extension comprises a program code that can be included in the runtime environment to extend the default capabilities of a runtime engine/framework. The extension handler provides tooling support for extension artifacts that use/require the runtime extension. When a tooling request for an extension artifact is obtained, the tooling request is processed using the extension handler. In this manner, a tooling solution is shielded from needing to know the specifics of the extension artifact or corresponding runtime extension. Similarly, the developer of the extension handler for the runtime extension is shielded from needing to know any specifics of the tooling environment. As a result, the invention provides a tooling solution that is extensible to support the tooling requirements of an extensible runtime engine.
