    • A grommet has a plurality of inner projecting strip portions and a plurality of outer projecting strip portions on inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the tapered portion, respectively. The plurality of inner and outer projecting strip portions respectively extend in an axial direction of the tapered portion and are spaced from each other in a circumferential direction. The outer projecting strip portions are located opposing to the inner projecting strip portions. A projection amount of the outer projecting strip portions is changed at a contact point. At the contact point, when the grommet is inserted into a through hole, the grommet first contacts an inner peripheral surface of the through hole. The projection amount between the contact point and a large diameter side end of the projecting strip portions is smaller than a second projection amount between the contact point and a small diameter side end.

    • The grommet having a longitudinal axis includes a funnel shaped portion having a flared end, a narrowed end and a conical wall with external and internal conical faces. The external conical face includes an external circular groove having a groove base. The grommet is inserted to an aperture of a car body panel after a wire harness is passed through and attached to the funnel shaped portion and the tubular portion, and a body latch groove provided on the external circumferential surface of the funnel shaped portion is latched to the car body panel. An extended tubular portion is provided that projects from the tubular portion, and extends inside the funnel shaped portion. A plurality of ribs is provided on an external circumferential surface of the extended tubular portion. The ribs include type one ribs having grooves on both surfaces of an element linking the rib to the extended tubular portion, and a type two rib having no groove.

    • The present invention is directed to a grommet that engages around an outer periphery of a wire harness and is inserted into a through hole of the automobile body. The grommet is provided with a generally cylindrical portion that tightly engages a wire of the wire harness and a generally conical portion extending from one end of the cylindrical portion. A thickened portion is provided around the conical portion in an enlarged end. A recess configured to be engaged with the automobile body is provided on an outer peripheral surface of the thickened portion. One side wall of the recess in the enlarged end extends outwardly and has a lip projecting from a tip of the extended side wall. A bottom surface of the recess has either a curved portion or an inclined portion so that an edge of the through hole of the automobile body panel is forcefully pressed into and distorts the curved or inclined portion. Another side wall, which faces toward the lip-side side wall (extending side wall), is configured to approach the lip-side side wall along a direction from the bottom surface to an opening end of the recess. The automobile body panel, which is engaged with the inner surface of the recess, contacts the grommet at the curved portion or the inclined portion of the recess, as well as the side wall and the lip. Thus, plural sealing points are provided between the grommet and an automobile body panel, thus, waterproofness is improved.

    • A clamp has an annular strap section enclosing an interior space and defining an opening between opposite ends of the strap section. A pair of insertion engagement sections are at opposite ends of the strap section. The insertion engagement sections stand outwardly and oppose each other at opposite ends of the opening. Each insertion engagement section includes an axle plate portion projecting from an end of the opening. A wing portion is bent down from a distal end of the axle plate portion. A stepped latching portion is formed on a distal end of the wing portion. A dimension of the opening is set to be narrower than a diameter of a wire harness to be contained in the interior space. The clamp contains the wire harness in the interior space while the annular strap section is elastically bent outwardly to widen the opening. After receiving the wire harness in the interior space, the annular strap section returns to its original position by elastic recovery to narrow the opening, thereby holding the wire harness in the interior space. The pair of insertion engagement sections are inserted into a through-hole in the car body panel. After inserting the sections into the through-hole, the stepped latching portions engage a periphery of the through-hole to lock the wire harness on a car body.
