    • An off-hook/on-hook signal discriminating means 5a is provided in a control portion 5 of the FSU in order to make discrimination between a pulse dial signal and a hooking signal. When a telephone turns to an off-hook state after an on-hook state and turns to an on-hook state again and the on-hook state is continued for a predetermined time, the FSU performs a terminating process so as to be returned into a standby state. When an off-hook signal is detected again in a time smaller than a predetermined time, the FSU recognizes that the signal is either a dial pulse signal or a hooking signal, and the off-hook/on-hook signal discriminating means 5a monitors the time required for detecting an on-hook signal again. When the time required for detecting an on-hook signal again is smaller than the predetermined time, the FSU decides that the signal is a dial pulse signal, and controls a tone generating circuit 7f to stop the dial tone. When there is no on-hook signal detected even though the predetermined time is passed, the FSU decides that the signal is a hooking signal, and controls the tone generating circuit 7f to stop the dial tone. Because a pulse dial signal and a hooking signal are discriminated from each other, dialing and hooking can be used differently in the same operation as an ordinary telephone connected to a wire telephone line.

    • To ascertain in a pseudo-incoming call sequence whether or not a fixed subscriber unit of a user is set to an operation condition to wait for an incoming call, when a pseudo-incoming call is transmitted from a pseudo-incoming call outputting unit of a base station managing apparatus to the fixed subscriber unit through a wireless base station and a radio communication path, the fixed subscriber unit outputs an incoming call response signal to the base station managing apparatus through the wireless base station. Therefore, the base station managing apparatus can recognize that the fixed subscriber unit is set to an operation condition. Thereafter, to prevent a telephone connected with the fixed subscriber unit outputting a ringer sound, in place of a ringer sound urging signal in an incoming call sequence, a sequence interrupting signal is output from an incoming call sequence interrupting unit of the base station managing apparatus to the fixed subscriber unit through the wireless base station. Therefore, the operation condition of the fixed subscriber unit can be recognized in the base station managing apparatus without bothering the user.

    • This invention provides a method for the preparation of insulating oil having good oxidation stability, electric characteristics and resistance to copper corrosion which comprises subjecting a distillate (stock) within a temperature range from 250.degree. to 400.degree. C. in terms of the boiling point at atmospheric pressure to solvent refining to a desulfurization from 30 to 75% by weight to give a raffinate, said distillate having been obtained either by distillation at atmospheric pressure of a paraffin- or mixture-base crude oil and/or by distillation under reduced pressure of a residual oil from the atmospheric pressure distillation, subjecting said raffinate to hydrogenating refining to a desulfurization from 40 to 90% by weight and subjecting the refined product to solvent dewaxing, and if necessary, subsequently subjecting the dewaxed product to clay treatment to a sulfur content of the final product from 0.1 to 0.35% by weight.

    • Method of assigning a fixed subscriber unit (FSU) to communicate with a particular base station and a system including a plurality of wireless FSUs. The system includes a plurality of base stations, which are coupled to a telecommunications network. Each FSU is coupled to a subscriber communication device, and each FSU is configured to communicate wirelessly with at least a base station. The FSU measures signal strength of a set of base stations. The FSU sends a message with the measured signal strength of the set of base stations to a base station. Circuitry coupled to the base station determines at least a base station to which the FSU is to be assigned based on the message and additional information in the circuitry coupled to the base station. In response to the determining by the circuitry coupled to the base station, the base station sends to the FSU a message including the base station to which the FSU is to be assigned.
