    • PURPOSE:To prevent an interruption of switch operation when the output of any one of two optical sensors is used up by continuing the switch output with the other optical sensor. CONSTITUTION:When an actuating piece 15 is at the free position, the light of projecting elements 25 of optical sensors 23a, 23b is shaded by the actuating piece 15 not to reach light receiving elements 26. Next, in the process that the actuating piece 15 moves to the operating positional direction, resisting a spring 19, the light from the sensor 23a reaches the elements 26 through a first transmission window 27, and the sensor 23a is operated. The actuating piece 15 moves furthermore, and the light from the optical sensor 23b reaches the elements 26 through a transmission window 28 to output the operating output as a switch. Thereafter, when the external forth applied to the operating piece is eliminated, the actuating piece 15 starts to move to the free position, and the sensor 23b is reset, and a timer counter for reset failure starts the count. When the actuating piece 15 returns to the free position, the light from the optical sensor 23a to the elements 26 is shaded to reset the actuating piece 15, and the reset output is output to stop the count. When the count number becomes more than the initial set value, the failure previewing signal is output.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate mis-output even if a voltage with a short pulse width is applied by providing an overcurrent detection circuit, a capacitor connected to a constant current source, a voltage detection circuit controlling the overvoltage detection circuit, and a discharge circuit discharging the capacitor and providing a current control element between a timer capacitor and the discharge circuit. CONSTITUTION:If a load 23 is short-circuited and a proximity switch is operated, a signal is sent to a base of a transistor (TR) 33 forming a discharge circuit 7 to discharge the electric charge in a capacitor 18. When the discharge of the capacitor 18 is finished, the charging from a constant current source 39 is started. Since the discharge time is far smaller than the charging time, the output TR 20 is protected from the overcurrent. When a voltage having the noise with a short pulse width is applied, a time constant is obtained by the presence of a current control element 34, the TR 33 is turned off while the discharge is not sufficiently progressed and the charging is started again, then noise immunity is improved.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a proximity switch damaged by using an oscillation circuit whose oscillation amplitude is changed in analog fashion corresponding to the position of a body to be detected, discriminating the level of the integral voltage of an integration circuit connected to the oscillation circuit, and informing deviation from a preset position by issuing output corresponding to each level. CONSTITUTION:The oscillation amplitude of the oscillation circuit 2 is decreased gradually as the body 3 to be detected approaches an induction plane 11. When the body 3 to be detected arrives at specific distance for the induction plane 11, an operation display element on one side i.e., a red light emitting diode 14a is lit with a display element driving circuit 13, then, the arrival of the body 3 to be detected at the operation start distance of the proximity switch 10 is displayed. Next, when the body 3 to be detected approaches an induction plane 11 side from the above state, the amplitude of the oscillation circuit 2 i.e., the integral voltage of the integration circuit 4 is decreased gradually. When the body 3 to be detected arrives at a stable operation start position for the induction plane 11, the display element driving circuit 13 lights a green light emitting diode 14b, and displays the fact that the distance between the body 3 to be detected and the induction plane 11 is appropriate.

CONSTITUTION:When an operating piece is rotated, an actuating piece 15 is pushed. When the actuating piece 15 is at the free position, the light from projecting elements 25 of optical sensors 23a, 23b does not reach light receiving elements 26. In the process that the actuating piece 15 moves from the free position to the operating position, resisting to a spring 19, the light passed through a first transmission window 27 reaches the elements 26 to turn on, but the operating output as a switch is not output. Furthermore, when the operating piece reaches the predetermined rotating quantity, the light from the sensor 23b reaches the elements 26 through a transmission window 28 to output the operating output as a switch. At this stage, when the external forth applied to the operating piece is eliminated, the actuating piece 15 returns to the free position with the spring 19 to reset the sensor 23b, and when the actuating piece 15 perfectly returns, the reset output is output.

Furthermore, when the operating piece overtravels, the light from elements 25 of a third optical sensor reaches elements 26 through a third transmission window 29. When the actuating piece 15 starts to be reset after sensors 23a, 23b are operated and before the sensor 23c is operated, a judgement that the actuating piece 15 does not move to the free position sufficiently is judged to perform the failure preview output. A reset failure is thereby previewed and the switch output signal can be secured.
