    • PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance characteristic by applying austenitizing heating and holding to a high alloy cast iron, cooling repidly said cast iron, and repeating by plural times the heat treastment for controlling carbide's shape at a specified temp. range, then applying low temp. heat treatmemt for strain removal. CONSTITUTION:The molten bath of the high alloy cast iron consisting of by weight 0.5-4.0% C, 0.1-2.0% Si, 0.5-35.0% Cr, 0.05-20.0% W, 0.03-10.0% V, 0.5-15.0% Mo, 1.0-10.0% Co and the balance >=10% Fe is cast in mold at 1,600-1,550 deg.C to manufacture a roughly molded material. This is heated at 900-1,250 deg.C for 1-50hr, austenitizing treated and cooled rapidly to room temp. by water. Next, the carbide shape controlling heat treatment in which heating at 650-800 deg.C for 0.5-10hr and rapid cooling thereafter are performed, is repeated by 1-5 times. Further, said material is heated at 100-250 deg.C for 0.5-5hr and subjected to low temp. strain removal heat treatment to manufacture the high alloy cast iron having superior wear resistance.
