摘要： It is an object of the present invention to improve the mixability of liquid hydrocarbon fuel and hydrogen gas and reduce the number of parts required for fuel supply means that supplies the two types of fuel. Disclosed is a hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engine (1) that uses liquid hydrocarbon fuel and hydrogen gas as fuel. The hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engine comprises a fuel injection device (12) for injecting hydrocarbon fuel; fuel supply means for supplying hydrocarbon fuel to the fuel injection device; and a microbubble generation device (16) for generating microbubbles of hydrogen gas and mixing the generated microbubbles of hydrogen gas into liquid hydrocarbon fuel in the fuel supply means. The hydrogen gas microbubbles are supplied, for instance, to a fuel supply path (second fuel supply path) and fuel tank, which constitute the fuel supply means.

摘要： During starting of an engine (1) that has a circulation path (30) through which argon, used as working gas, is circulated back to a combustion chamber (15) and that uses hydrogen as fuel during operation, oxygen is supplied in such a manner that the oxygen supply ratio is higher than that used during normal operation. Thus, the entirety of hydrogen supplied into the combustion chamber (15) reacts with oxygen and is burned. When the engine (1) is being started, because gas is not turbulent enough, hydrogen and oxygen are likely to be mixed poorly. Therefore, when oxygen is supplied in such a manner that the ratio of oxygen supply amount to the hydrogen supply amount is higher than the theoretical ratio, even if oxygen and hydrogen are not mixed so well, the chance that hydrogen contacts oxygen is increased. As a result, combustion takes place in a more appropriate manner, which improves the engine startability.

摘要： A start control apparatus for a port injection internal combustion engine (1) starts the engine (I) by supplying fuel to an intake stroke cylinder in which a piston (5) is stopped in an intake stroke, when a predetermined start condition is fulfilled. The start control apparatus includes a throttle valve (20). The position of the throttle valve (20) is switchable between a closing position (P1) in which the throttle valve (20) decreases a flow passage sectional area of an intake port (3a), and an opening position (P2) in which the throttle valve (20) fully opens the intake port (3a). The, start control apparatus determines whether a piston (5) in the intake stroke cylinder is stopped in a predetermined crank angle range, when the predetermined start condition is fulfilled. When it is determined that the piston (5) in the intake stroke cylinder is stopped in the predetermined crank angle range, the start control apparatus switches the position of the throttle valve (20) to the closing position (P1), and then, starts the engine (1).

An amount of fuel to be injected from the injector (13) for the compression stroke cylinder during the stop process period is set based on the estimated position of the piston (5) in the compression stroke cylinder. The injector (13) injects the fuel in the set fuel amount so that the fuel is contained in the compression stroke cylinder when the engine is stopped.

The fuel injection amount can also be controlled as a function of position in which the piston stops in the intake stroke. The invention allows to restrain self ignition at starting.
